Ganaroth: Hiiiii. What's up?
vonel: not much
Ganaroth: Grah, Gan, remember we play at 2, not 3.
Riot: hi hi
Ganaroth: Everyone doing more or less ok?
Riot: Surviving
=^v^=: more or less
vonel: ya
Ganaroth: Seems like that's the best we can ask for, these days. I know I'm being an old by saying that, but the world really is a lot worse by most metrics than it was as a kid. Some social stuff is better, and tech is obviously better. Everything else is in a death spiral.
Ganaroth: Otoh, that allows me to mostly no longer care about the consequences of anyone's actions.
=^v^=: I mean unlikle 10 years ago, 4th ed maptool framework's condition tracking is a bit easier to use!
Ganaroth: Anyway... Akaiku, do you think you could send me the logfox for last time? You'd just gotten to Gray Clouds, but I don't remember specifically how far you got. Well, Akaiku, that sounds like tech, which is obviously better.
=^v^=: mostly I like how pirate anime is a nicer experiance now

Cool, thanks, got it. You'd just finished talking to the addicted girl (I'm not going to call her a junkie anymore. I thought about it, and that's just too cruel for her situation), and she gave you some info about the place, what Gray gets up to in there, and some speculation about how to get his attention. According to her, this is the "Door of Need," where Angel of Valor guardians peer into the minds of the addicts before them, selecting only the most desperate to pass. The other door, apparently, is for more serious patrons.
The line itself snakes past the tower, and around the corner, well out of the sight of the angels, though it's possible nothing beyond more line can be found. The Angels have yet to look in your direction, intent on the line instead. As you stand there, a few people incoherently wander past you, one of them stumbling, then tripping to the ground in front of you. He giggles as he regains his feet, smiling at you and waving. None of you recognize him, and soon his eyes slide off you, as though whatever recognition passed through him has vanished.
=^v^=: (( also we could just bribe through line, maybe door. ))
Lucky: "This place is fuckin' weird."
I can't imagine that people in this line wouldn't be willing to let you cut in return for a little cash. Or, yeah, could try to bribe the angels. You don't know of any particular reason it wouldn't work.
Ra'ven: "I mean, it's not as instantly unplesent as the last places at least. Probably still bad, no offense."
Ganaroth: (Just retrieving some tokens, sorry.)
Ganaroth: (kay, done.)
Eileen: "If the angles in this door of need look into peoples minds to let them in then the other door might be a better option, unless yeah... they could be bribed not to."
Kaylen Fisher: "The ones guarding the main door might be more wary too, since there job has more cash on the line."
Eileen: "True..."
Lucky: "Bribing our way in might not be the best plan. Especially not the cheap door. Attracts attention, at a guess. Least it would at my place."
Eileen looks up, "Don't know how much of an option it is given how it looked as we flew in but we could try doing in from the top and working our way back down."
Ra'ven: "Dunno, I mean rough types come in this door, and, I would expect, 'I can take that guy for sure' isn't uncommon a thought."
Itzen: "I admit, this sort of place isn't exactly my element...."
Kaylen Fisher: "I think what she's saying is that they might call the boss if somebody asks for something suspicious like that. They might know that we aren't actual customers." She looks frustrated. "The aerial insertion might work. No idea if this place has any aerial defenses, but it'd probably be a direction they don't expect."
Kaylen Fisher: "Three options, three ways they could screw us up, three path to victory."
Kaylen Fisher: "Well, I'm sure path four and five are lying around too."
Eileen: "I mean sewers are probably there... but after that last one I'm not sure I want to go crawling though the muck again."
Lucky: "Prefer not to wade through shit and whatever drug runoff gets put out from here, honestly."
Pell scowls at the idea
Io 's lips curl in a snarl. "Let's not, no. The smell might make us fit in, true, but WE'd have to smell it as well. And may the heavens have mercy if anyone has an open cut."
Eileen: "That rules out path four, so which way do we want to try? What ever we pick we probably only get the one shot at this point."
Kaylen Fisher: "Hmm. The aerial option might have a little fighting involved, if there are guards. We pretty clearly wouldn't belong there. But if the defenses are light, we might be able to deal with them before word spreads. The other two are more likely to be nonviolent, at least at first, but if anyone suspects us, we might not know until they're ready to pounce."
Kaylen Fisher: "My own vote would be for the rich door, I guess. If nothing else, we could try to fast talk them there."
Io: "The flight option."
Eileen looks to everone else.
Lilium: "Ummm... flight if were picking."
Itzen: "Perhaps flight wouldn't go as poorly as it did last time."
Lucky: "I'm down for a good drop-in."
Itzen: "It would save someone having to 'talk the talk' at least."
Pell: "I... Ugh. Fine."
Pell grumbles. "... hate flying."
Kaylen Fisher sighs, and pats Pell's shoulder gently. "I feel you."
Eileen: "Not sure any one other then Perra does, any ways let's get to it."
Kaylen Fisher: (Sorry, just a sec. Again. Sigh.)
Kaylen Fisher: Sorry, dealing with being a bit sick. Back as soon as possible.
Riot: (( no worries ))
Kaylen Fisher: (That was super unpleasant. But I am back.)
Riot: (( welcome back ))
Ganaroth: (Is it okay if I assume that you scout the roof first?)
Io is a stealth flappy dragon and prob could
vonel: (( sounds good ))
Ganaroth: (I mean, he'll need to get up there, first. It's a fairly tall tower. However, the illumination of it as you flew in showed that it had some convenient terracing. If the resistance isn't too great, Ayalin could probably ferry people up there. Possibly without them knowing, even, depending on the situation.)
Ganaroth: (Once he's there, Io would be a great spy)
=^v^=: (( plus, you know, eagles ))
Angel of Protection 1: (Oh, sorry. Forgot that's HOW you flew in! Lol.)
Ganaroth: (Yeah, that would obviously work.)
vonel: (( they do hang around for 12 hours. ))
Ganaroth: (Makes sense.)
=^v^=: (( go all gandalf on it ))
Ganaroth: (How do we know Gandalf is powerful? He killed a Balrog. How do we know a Balrog is powerful? It took Gandalf to kill one. LoTR silliness at its finest.)
Riot: (( makes sense to me lol ))
Ganaroth: (So, what are you doing?)
Riot: (( is everyone scouting or just Io? ))
Riot: (( Oh the scouting is done huh? ))
Ganaroth: (No, nobody ever confirmed anything. There was some "this could happen," but nobody ever said "I do this."
Riot: (( Oh okay ))
Ganaroth: (I don't normally like to choose player actions for them, since I don't know exactly what you want.)
Riot: (( In that case I'll defer to whomever is controlling Io, since I think the idea was that they would scout ))
=^v^=: (( new treefriend might be good at looking at stuff too ))
Lilium can head up to look around sure
Riot: (( Lucky might could Perceive things on an eagle ))
=^v^=: (( mostly to see a good place to swoop in and puch some badguys ))
=^v^=: (( ? ))
Io: (Sure. If you would like, most of you could stay up there, circling, while someone like Lucky zooms around to see what's up.)
Io: )Say so if you do anything, please.)
Riot: (( Lucky scopes ))
Lucky breaks off from the group, approaching the roof of the tower on silent wings. The roof itself is well lit, showing a small rooftop garden, and several freestanding structures. Each corner of the walled garden is home to a Sentinel Cannon, similar to the versions around the prison. There are several guards in evidence as well, or at least angels who could easily serve as guards, regardless of their actual jobs. Lucky, could you please make a perception check?
Io: (Lucky, could you please make a perception check?)
Itzen buisy's herself being unhappy at the prospect of catching more balasta bolts to the chest
Lucky:
  : Rolled 28. Perception
Riot: (( Spaced out for a sec lol ))
Lucky: (Keen vision coming through for her, Lucky is able to see that, while there are four turrets, the southern two seem badly corroded. You're not sure they'd actually work.)
Ganaroth: (Sorry, again.)
Ganaroth: (Southern of course refers only to these maps. South isn't a relevant direction in this world.)
Riot: (( doesn't bother me ))
Ganaroth: (People think in terms of Upcolumn, downcolumn, spin, counterspin, Toward the vortex and away from it, the velocity of orbit, etc.)
Ganaroth: (Since north south east and west don't exist, and few things have fixed places.)
Lucky lands and reports to the group everything she's seen
Ganaroth: (I'mma bring you folks over, if that's ok.)
Riot: (( fine by me ))
=^v^=: (( there might not even be magnetic poles for compasses to work! ))
Io: (There are magnetic FIELDS, but they're all local rather than global, so to speak.)
Eileen: "Well if the two on that side don't look like they work then we should be able to land there, and the buildings might give some cover from the other two."
Io: (Compasses do things, but they aren't consistent from place to place, so you'd need to know the peculiarities of the region to get use out of it.)
Kaylen Fisher: "I like that idea. Just a few guards visible on the roof, but there might be more inside the buildings. If we set down quietly enough, we might even be able to peek inside."
Kaylen Fisher: "Spread out, wolfpack them once we know where they're hiding."
Kaylen Fisher seems oddly excited.
Eileen: "Your leanring."
Lucky: "I like your energy. Let's keep that up."
Kaylen Fisher: "Heh, I'm trying!"
Itzen: "They are unlikely to have more of those inside anyways."
Kaylen Fisher: "The turrets, no, but Angels like the indoors as much as anyone else."
Kaylen Fisher: (I would like everyone to please make a steath check to set down without notice, if that's what you plan.)

=^v^=: (( I mean most of the party is bad at stealth ))
vonel: (( or at least Lilium and Kay are ))
=^v^=: (( Io's only got a 2 higher bonus then kay ))
Kaylen Fisher: (That was still kinda exceptional. Well, that's exactly half misses. Because I'm a fool, and didn't think about that obvious thing, I should probably roll to see whether half means a win, or half means a loss.)
Riot: (( Lucky has a +14 and Pell has a +11 lol ))
Riot: (( hilariously bad rolls ))
Kaylen Fisher: (You can also chime in, if you have thoughts, but given everything else in the game (and my roll just now), I think it should probably be half wins, meaning that you got up there. Hm. Ah, I know+
Kaylen Fisher: -(sorry,sic again.)
The rest of you alight behind the southeast building, which has a single door on the side facing you. As you do so, you hear a murmur from inside. "Did you hear something? One of the vermin had better not have gotten up here again. I'll check it out."
Ganaroth: (there, split the difference.)
vonel: (( I'm okay with that and it makes sense ))
Ra'ven: "Vermin, huh..." Ra whispers to the rest
Kaylen Fisher: "Probably the customers, right?"
Eileen: "More then likely."
You hear a distinct *click* as the lock on the adjacent door disengages. You have only a few moments to prepare before it opens.
Ganaroth: (Ok. If nobody wants to do anything...)
Lucky is gonna grab the dude if he comes outside, hand over his mouth
Riot: (( that's my idea anyway lol ))
Ra'ven will likely draw an arrow at the clinking door herself
The door open, swinging open towards you, which conveniently block the Angel's ability to see you. The Angel that emerges is one of the lesser ones; the ones that seem to be made of fire. It's certainly solid fire, though, since it could open door, and since the door isn't scorched, it's a fair bet that it's not hot, either. Angels are conceptual beings, and are often as much about metaphor as matter. Lucky can make her roll, if she would like. Would you like to shoot simultaneously, Ra, or do you wait until the grab. Just checking.
=^v^=: (( Wait, it's a threat shot more then a kill someone quick idea ))

Riot: (( I think this is the first time I've had to roll and attack roll without a target to click on lol ))
Angel of Valor 4: (No, there should be a dedicated grab button. Unless you've altered it manually, though, you'll have to add in the enhancement bonus from inherent and such. Normally it doesn't get anything, which makes it an awful option for everyone.)
Lucky:

Ra'ven prob like there, since we are standing out here
As the creature peeks out, Lucky is able to snag it, quickly dragging it out of sight and quelling its speech. It struggles in your arms, but your own remain corded steel, unyielding. The flames lick you as it struggles, and they feel like cool feathers. Eventually, its movement slow, then stop. It's not dead or unconscious. If you had to put a word to it, it would be sulking.
Angel of Valor 4: "..."
Riot: (( Okay I will admit to being the dog that caught the car right now ))
Riot: (( Not sure what to do now lmao ))
Angel of Valor 4: (I think this is one of those situations where I really can't choose for you.)
Riot: (( No I know. Opinions? ))
Riot: (( Anybody got a way to put this thing to sleep or knock it out? I am currently holding it so unless I choke it out, that's not happening on my end I think ))
Angel of Valor 4: (If all you want to do is knock him out, I can just say that happens. He's basically helpless. And yes, I know that grab doesn't work exactly this way, but lucky did a special out-of-combat grab. )
Riot: (( Okay that works for me then lol, thank you ))
Ra'ven: "Huh, that was quiet."
Io: "One down. I hope the ones he was talking to don't come looking for him immediately."
Lucky shrugs.
Ra'ven: "Glad you didn't get burned."
Lucky: "Ain't hot. Guessin' it's angel stuff."
Kaylen Fisher: "Agreed. But Lucky's a toughie. I'm sure she'd be fine even if."
Kaylen Fisher: "So, we're up. What's the plan?"
Ra'ven: "Ya but what if I had to bite one?" She hmms, "I mean our target is supposedly up top and only decends if something cool happens, so we should be somewhat nearer from here right?"
Eileen: "That would be my thought, need to find a way down."
Kaylen Fisher: "Well, if Lucky didn't see it while flying over, it's probably in one of the buildings."
Kaylen Fisher: "I think we should rush into THIS building. Dunno who's in there, but we might be able to occupy them before they can call for help, and then we'd have a little breathing room."
Eileen: "Agreed."
Lucky: "Move fast and break things, I like it."
Kaylen Fisher: "Mm. Might want to clear the rooftop, too, eventually. Otherwise the others will find their unconscious friends while we're downstairs."
You can hear perhaps three more creatures inside, though you don't know which kinds.
Itzen: "We are looking for someone specific, we likely do not need to worry about clearing the way aside from having an exit route. And minimising tireing fights before our objective is a sound tactic as well."
Kaylen Fisher: "Not wrong. I'm just worried about them raising the alarm while we're doing something."
Kaylen Fisher: "But hey, I'll follow the plan."
Eileen: "I'd rather be inside and have them come to us if they hear something then be fighting out here and getting pletted by those cannons."
Pell: "Sound thinking."
Kaylen Fisher: "I honestly wonder if I could alter the targeting on those cannons. It would be funny to make them shoot the angels. But I'd have to be next to it without being seen, which is problematic."
Eileen: "Maybe you can try on one of those broken ones once we deal with everything else out here, wouldn't mind having some covering fire if we can get them working on the way out."
You may move into the room when you are ready. You have surprise, obviously. I'll show the critters, because you have an idea where they are now.
Kaylen Fisher: "Hmm. I mean, I'd have to chip away some of the corrosion, but that's not actually impossible. It'll only be specific parts that really need attention anyway."
Kaylen Fisher: "I just mentioned it idly, though. We probably don't need to at all."
Eileen nods as she heads in
Kaylen Fisher: (Would you folks mind if I just rolled init for all the monsters on the roof ahead of time, and just, you know, skip the turns of those unaware of you?)

vonel: (( I mean suprise round so... ))
=^v^=: (( I see rolling a 20 for init as extremely unlucky ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Why so? You rushed in on the surprise round, and then three of you go before any enemies. That's a decent chance to fuck them up, especially given that, as far as Lucky can tell, the Angel of Valor was essentially a minion.)
vonel: (( and depending on how were doing the suprise round, if it's who ever then mind if Eileen does her thing? ))

Kaylen Fisher: (Rolling a 20 is OPTIONS, Akaiku. It doesn't protect when you roll a 20 and use it to make a bad decision. Cripes. I remember we discussed this, but I don't remember the conclusion or why.)
vonel: (( Neaither do I, I know who it's suposed to work but I know we did it free for all as well. ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Ok, if there's not a compelling argument to alter it, we're gonna just do init as shown.)

Io: "Don't ask me, I've never seen these so-called angels before."
Lilium: I've finished my turn.

Hit: Until end of next turn she can do 1 thunder damage (or cosiderably more if she is werewolf'd and has combat advatage) as a free action to anyone who enters a square adjacent to her.
Angel of Love 2: (Don't you have to become big for that?)
Angel of Love 2: (Oh, no. My bad.)
Angel of Love 2: (Wrong thing, again.)
=^v^=: (( no that's the daily big wolf button, this one is the mere hybrid form one ))
Angel of Love 2 is visibly staggering, reeling from the relentless flurry of attacks.
Ra'ven:
  Flurry of Blows
 Also set them on fire.
Trigger: She hits with an attack during her turn.
  (1) Angel of Love 2  ( Autohit )    —    7 fire damage .
Effect: She shifts (teleports?) 1 square. If the target wasn't hit by the triggering attack, it also takes -2 to attack rolls until end of next turn.
Apply -2 to attacks that include Ra'Ven
=^v^=: (( o rite, if it resist fire I got a thing ))
Io has received initiative.
Ra'ven: I've finished my turn.
Io smiles, seeing a nearly flawless victory approaching. The luck gods' eyes fix upon them in response.
Io: (It does not have fire resist.)
Io:
  Disintegration Breath
  (1) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 23 vs. AC    —    11 untyped. damage .
Hit: and the target takes a -1 penalty to all defenses until the start of your next turn.
Apply The target takes a -1 Penalty to all defenses until the start of your next turn.
Angel of Love 2:
  Angelic Presence
Effect: While the angel is not bloodied, attack rolls against it take a -2 penalty.
=^v^=: (( but it is bloddied ))
Io: (Eventually I'm going to not look stupid. Works, then.)
Riot: (( I think 23 still misses anyway ))
Riot: (( Oh I was wrong then ))
Io: (It doesn't miss reflex.)
Io: (Oh, it's AC. Huh. Really?)
Riot: (( I was very confused for a second ))
Io: (Gimme a sec on that. That can't be right.)
=^v^=: (( I don't know why it's targeting ac, didn't make io ))
=^v^=: (( ya blast vs ac would be a bit odd, especally as an implement power? ))
Io: (It's supposed to be will, which doesn't make much sense for the reskin, but whatever.)
Io: (We can just say that it takes presence of mind to not fall apart.)
Io: (Or something.)
Io: (In any case, 23 v will hits.)
Lucky has received initiative.
Io: I've finished my turn.
vonel: (( the targets need the will to power. ))
Angel of Love 2: Nietzche Breath!
=^v^=: (( it targets their ontological intertia directly and with sufficent spiral energy you can just not disintergrate on your wedding day ))
Angel of Love 2: (Otherwise known as "Teenager-who-thinks-he's-deep breath)
Angel of Love 2: (I still want Jack Rakan's power.)
Ra'ven: "Maybe don't kill this one..." she mumbles to Luck
Lucky: "Why not?"
=^v^=: (( I still want Flex Mentalo's powers on a fighter ))
Angel of Love 2: (You couldn't have Flex Mentalo's power on a DEITY.)
Ra'ven: "Cause I didn't kill the succubus and it'd feel... odd."
Riot: (( This IS the succubus? ))
Riot: (( I am fully confused ))
Angel of Love 2: (I think she means the succubus way back in Si En Kelar)
=^v^=: (( correct! ))
Riot: (( This is a weird time for that to be a thing, ngl ))
Riot: (( We just killed its two friends ))
=^v^=: (( Ra feels bad giving quarter to the evil versions of them but not the good ones ))
Angel of Love 2: (The "good" ones, working at a drug parlor that specificly tries to kill the poor.)
Riot: (( Yeah exactly ))
=^v^=: (( Ra is in a somewhat confusing morality quandry with her existance, she'll say stuff like this sometimes xP ))
Angel of Love 2: (4e Angels aren't creatures of good. They're primarily creatures of service, sworn to some master or cause. Whatever they swear to can be fantastically beautiful, or it can be absolutely horrific. Same difference to them.)
Riot: (( How does non lethal work ))
vonel: (( You just say that ))
Angel of Love 2: (Yup. You just say "I knock it out.")
=^v^=: (( in 4th ed, you just say it, maybe don't use somethign that's flavored in a particularly egregious killy way ))
Riot: (( Okay then, these are non lethal then ))
Lucky:
  Twin Strike (melee)
One two, one two and through and through~
  (1) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 20 vs. AC    —    14 damage .
  (Sec.) (1) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 30 vs. AC    —    7 damage .
If both attacks hit, deal extra damage equal to 4
Riot: (( rip ))
=^v^=: (( more specfically you can say you knocked them out or killed them when you reduce them to 0 ))
Angel of Love 2: (Yeah, if your attack describes you tearing their skeleton out, it's harder to justify nonlethal.)
Riot: (( One of them very much does NOT hit and the damage on the one that did is so low lmao ))
=^v^=: (( mebby quary ))
Riot: (( I did forget to do that but it's late now ))
Angel of Love 2: (You can do it retroactively, since it changes none of your or my actions.)
Lucky:
  Hunters Quarry
 Going to stab THAT guy
Effect: Closest foe is subjected to Lucky's Quarry and takes extra damage when hit. Using this again removes the old quarry.
(1) Angel of Love 2  Angel of Love 2
Apply Lucky does extra damage to this guy
Riot: (( that's a 1d6 right ))
Angel of Love 2: (Yah.)
Riot: (( I'll just roll that then if that's okay ))
Angel of Love 2: (Sure)
* Riot rolls: 1d6 => 5
Angel of Love 2 is super woozy after being beaten about the head and shoulders.
Lucky: I've finished my turn.
Kaylen Fisher has received initiative.
Angel of Love 2: (These guys expected the spanish inquisition, and were surprised when instead they got hot death courtesy of you.)
Kaylen Fisher:
  Lightning Lure
  (2) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 16 vs. Fortitude    —    13 lightning damage .
Hit: and you pull the target to the nearest unoccupied space adjacent to you. Increase damage to 2d6 + Intelligence modifier at 21st level.
Special: If you cannot pull the target to an adjacent square, this power fails, and deals no damage.
Angel of Love 2: (Noo.... That isn't going to work. Sorry.)
Kaylen Fisher:
  Aegis of Shielding
Effect: Target one creature in the burst. You mark the target. The target remains marked until you use this power against another target. If you mark other creatures using other powers, the target is still marked. A creature can be subject to only one mark at a time. A new mark supersedes a mark that was already in place. If the marked target makes an attack that doesn't include you as a target, it takes a –3 penalty to attack rolls. If that attack hits and the marked target is within 10 squares of you, you can use an immediate interrupt to reduce the damage dealt by that attack to any one creature by an amount equal to [5 + ConBonus]. At 11th level, reduce the damage dealt by [10 + ConBonus]. At 21st level, reduce the damage dealt by [15 + ConBonus]
(2) Angel of Love 2  Angel of Love 2   Target one creature in the burst. If that attack hits and the marked target is within 10 squares of you, you can use an immediate interrupt to reduce the damage dealt by that attack to any one creature by an amount equal to 9 . At 11th level, reduce the damage dealt by 14 . At 21st level, reduce the damage dealt by 19
Apply The target takes a -3 penalty to attack rolls that do not include Kaylen, and are subject to her Aegis of Shielding.
Itzen has received initiative.
Kaylen Fisher: I've finished my turn.
Itzen:
  Oath of Violence
Right, that guy going to hurt.
Effect: Target is oathed until it dies, at which point this power recharges.
Apply Wolf Cultist can roll twice and take highest with melee attacks vs target if no other foe is adjacent to her
Angel of Love 2: (Itzen wakes up every day and chooses violence.)
Itzen:
  Overwhelm
 Lets dance!
  (1) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 21 vs. AC    —    9 damage .
  (1) Angel of Love 2    Rolled 22 vs. AC    —    9 damage .
Hit: she shifts 1 square and slides the foe into the square she vacated
Special: This is a basic attack
Angel of Love 2: (WOW.)
=^v^=: (( err, +2 to those ))
=^v^=: (( cause I forgot combat advantage exists ))
Angel of Love 2: (Still a miss, I'm afraid.)
=^v^=: (( aww, and it has -1 ac ))
Angel of Love 2: (Oh. I forgot about that. Hits then.)
Itzen knocks it out, "Strange reason."
You were able to successfully silence the enemies before they could call for help!
Lucky just shrugs and says, "She wakes up and makes it our problem, it's on you."
Riot: (( directed at Ra'ven, and not in an angry way ))
Riot: (( Just like matter of factly speaking ))
Kaylen Fisher: "Righty...." She begins checking the bodies, and then the rest of the room, picking up various trifles, but also looking for something. "Should be a key to that hatch around here somewhere, right?"
Lilium goes to drag the other one back into the building in case the others ones come around.
Io also helps to drag the bodies around. They are stronger than they look, even if their baby endurance isn't so great.
Ra'ven checks what the big old barrels might have in them in case they are empty
Lucky: "Thanks, Lil."
Ra'ven: "Could always have me or them unlock it, but it looks really heavy." she gestures to Io
The barrels appear to contain some kind of fragrant liquid. It smells incredibly good, somehow, as though condensed revelation is waiting to sit upon your tongue.
Kaylen Fisher: "Yeah, we could always have him disintegrate it, but I'm worried about alarms and such. A key should deal with that issue, right? I don't think they probably set off their own alarms and lockpick their own doors all day."
Ra'ven: o.o
Ra'ven: "They have all this just sitting around, dang...."
Kaylen Fisher: "Hmm?" She looks over from the opposite stack of crates.
Eileen: "I mean they have to drink something... right?"
Kaylen Fisher: "Oh, find something nice?"
Ra'ven: "I mean, given what we know of this place, probably shouldn't just try it, but yes."
Kaylen Fisher: "Cool." She finishes with the crates, then walks over to see it herself. "Whoa. That really does smell... interesting..."
Lilium peaks as well
Lucky inspects it
Ra'ven: "Too bad a barrel this big is way to heavy to steal."
Pell Doesn't give a fuck about the barrels or their contents, and just keeps searching for a key.
It smell like memory and possibility.
Io hops over, takes a sniff, then recoils. "Er... no, you shouldn't drink this. Not NOW at least. The girl at the gate spoke of a shared dream that the Gray Angel can create? It's not a power of his. It's this. He's somehow found a source of Soma." He shakes himself, a clear fusion of revulsion and desire. "And that should be impossible. From what you've told me, the primary ingredient should no longer exist."
the search goes on for several more minutes, but unfortunately fails to uncover a key to the hatch. It's possible that a different angel has it.
Ra'ven: "Why? What's it made of?" Ra goes to inspect the lock on the hatch next for how unlocky it might be
Eileen sighs, of course it wouldn't be that easy..."
Io: "Soma is liquid dreams. A divine liquor, essentially, and when I say divine, I mean it literally requires the purified blood of a deity."
Lilium: "But if it's being made here then that would mean..."
Ra'ven: "So we could make it from you then?" pause, "I mean, not that we would."
Pell stops his rifling at Io's words. "That sounds... horridly portentous."
Io: "It was something that allowed our most favored followers to commune with us, and we even used it to commune with each other at times." He eyes it, clearly disturbed. "We don't know they're making it here. But somewhere, they've either found a way to replicate the sacred fluid, or that one of my brethren still lives."
Ra'ven: "Maybe the Grey Angel is one of those, those dieties thing."
Io: "You have no idea. Your world is godless, save for a single entity that is less a being and more an implacable force of nature. You have little concept of the powers we once wielded. The damage that a god, unrestrained by the presence of others, could inflict..." They shake their head. "Perhaps. I would hope not. Most of my kind had greater ambitions than this. But not impossible."
Io: "This city has been one unpleasant surprise after another for me. Dragons and Soma, and a strange compulsion, and of course the Orb on top of it."
Eileen looks at Io, "Should we destroy what we find? You would now what's best in this situation."
Itzen: "Its at least not the orbs falt, this drink. It's locked up."
Lucky: "Adhikaar ain't for the faint of heart, that's for sure. People fight ya soon as look at ya."
Ra'ven: "Seems wasteful to just destroy it if it's so rare."
Kaylen Fisher: "And apparently this is the testing ground for all the crazy. I guess it's not a terrible place for it." She eyes the barrel. "I mean, do we have a way to take it with us? I left my bag of holding in my other bag of holding, so now I don't have one."
Ra'ven aboslutly has a single empty wineskin on her which she offers up
Kaylen Fisher: ((Fun fact: During a game I played in college, the players successfully weaponized the bag of holding trick, and used it to remove a super annoying enemy during an important fight. Actually, during that same fight, one of the players got swallowed whole, and then BIT his way out.))
Kaylen Fisher: (3.5 was wild sometimes.)
You fill up the wineskin with the fragrant liquid. It seems to vibrate within the container, buzzing in time to a song you almost recognize.
Ra'ven gives a slightly wistful sigh, "Bit like home, but different tune."
Kaylen Fisher: "I'm going to take a quick peek..." She goes over to the door, crack it just slightly, and looks. "Another of those Love angels, and an Angel of Protection. They're annoying, like a good tank ought to be. Don't see anything more advanced."
Lilium: "Should we try and lure them in here?"
Ra'ven: "It's really annoying that there is all these cool things but they are being used for evil."
Kaylen Fisher: "Dunno if you want to try it. I should look and see if there are alarms first... just in case." She goes over and begins magically examining it. "Hey, Pell. Give me a hand, will you? I can deal with the magical stuff, but if there are mechanical traps or alarms, I'd love a head'
Kaylen Fisher: *head's up."
Riot: (( got distracted ))
Kaylen Fisher: "Aha. Yup. There's some kind of energy hooked to it. Probably blows if it's messed with too much. I'm guessing necrotic, maybe? It wouldn't hurt the surrounding that way. See anything?"
Riot: (( What am I examining because last I see Kay went to the door? ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Kay asked for your help in finding and dealing with any mechical traps. She's noted that Pell seems to have clever fingers.)
Riot: (( Just like in general in the room? ))
Riot: (( Or looking out the door outside ))
=^v^=: (( probably hatch? ))
Kaylen Fisher: (I'm sorry, I failed at description. I meant the hatch, for both of them, yeah, but didn't say so well.)
Riot: (( Oooh Okay. That's what I initially thought then last I could see she was at the front door. What do you want me to roll? Arcana or Thievery? ))
Kaylen Fisher: (It's also 6:50, which might be time to end this session. But we actually did some stuff, so I'm not unhappy with it. Pell should roll thievery on this.)
Pell:
  : Rolled 32. Thievery
Riot: (( Yeah I was gonna ask if we could end soon, I gotta get changed and take the bus to the store because I am out of liquids I can drink in this house ))
Riot: (( And the water system I don't trust without boiling until I can run bleach through it ))
It's a good thing that Pell was there to deal with this one; The capsule trap containing the energy had a purely mechanical trigger. Unless Kaylen somehow neutralized the whole thing (difficult!) an arcana check wouldn't have been enough to deal with it.
Kaylen Fisher: (It opens, and now you can go to the store.)
Kaylen Fisher: (And I can probably have a power outage.)
Kaylen Fisher: (Thanks for being here, tonight. I had a good time, even if there were some stumbling blocks.
Kaylen Fisher: (Always good to spend time with you.)
Ra'ven: i haz saved the game
Kaylen Fisher: Thankz
Riot: (( Good game! ))
Riot: (( also yay Pell saved Kay's fingers from getting blown off lol ))
Ra'ven: just in case that power outage happens and I'm too annoyed to bother running the generator cause it's raining and super windy
Kaylen Fisher: (It's more like they would have rotted off, but she's just as grateful.)
Kaylen Fisher: (nodnod)
Riot: (( Ah fair yeah necrotic ))
Riot: (( Okay gnight yall! ))

Ganaroth: Hey.
Riot: hi hi
vonel: hey
Ganaroth: How are you folks?
Riot: Alive, you?
Ganaroth: About half of that.
Ganaroth: I was slipping in and out of consciousness all night. -.-
Riot: oof
vonel: that sucks
Ganaroth: Yeah. It actually offends me that you can sleep for 8 hours and end up more tired than when you started. The kind of sleep where you don't even make par.
Ganaroth: Ughghhh. But there is nothing for it but to just get up and start doing things, because clearly trying to sleep isn't working, lol. So here I am. To my recollection, you are still on the roof. Can you let me know what has been done vis a vis that door down?
vonel: I belive lockpicking and magic/regulare traps/alrams had been looked for, and we were also trying to figure out if we wanted to lure the other guys into the room to takes them out before going down.
Ganaroth: Ok, thanks! I just wasn't sure whether or not the door was unlocked and disarmed yet. Cool.
Riot: Yeah a trap was disarmed iirc?
=^v^=: if nothing else logfox remains
Kaylen Fisher: "I vote for taking out the others, personally. We don't know exactly where to find the target, which means we don't know how long we'll need to look. If we're in there too long, the others will probably wander over here, see the bodies, then raise the alarm. 'Course we can't know that they aren't about to start their shift, and people will be looking for all of them in ten minutes, but I figure we should take at least minimum caution."
Eileen nods
Lucky shrugs. "Works for me."
Io: "I have a different perspective. You are not a native flyer, and you naturally don't think this way, but if we attempt to kill the others, we'll need to do so in a way that does not allow them to disengage. Otherwise, these "angels" will simply fly down to a lower lever and raise the alarm there."
Itzen: "I do wonder if our target is the sort that would, you know, run away."
Io: "We are in control of the entrance, and to flying creatures that means precisely nothing."
Itzen: "This is their seat of power, after all."
Io: "I don't know this. But even if the Gray Angel would not abandon his seat of power, that doesn't mean his men won't retreat to warn the others...." He pauses. "...Do we assume that these angels have been infected in the same way as the other soldiers? If so, that would simplify things."
Eileen looks at Io, "We would need to lure them in to either this building or another building to stop them from flying off like that. Even if we did fight them out there we would still get shot up by those cannons."
Eileen: "Is there a way we can tell baised on them?"
Eileen points to the angels in the room.
Ra'ven: "I mean if one wakes up and is tied up if they try to attack us instead of try to escape or raise an alarm or something?"
Ra'ven: "You know, if nobody has a better way."
Kaylen Fisher: "...Dunno. I didn't sense anything from the others." She kneels down near one of the angels, pauses for a moment, then shakes her head. "I've got nothing. I... sorta have an idea, but it's a little risky. Just a little, though. If there are angels in any of those other buildings, we could always try to take them out, but give them what looks like a way out. Then we see if they take it, stop them if they do." She shrugs. "I know it's simple, but I'm not a healer. I can't sense any active magic, and I don't know enough to tell whether it's having secondary effects." She pauses at Ra'ven's statement. "If they actually think they could get away, that could work. Maybe."
Kaylen Fisher: "Just have to make sure that they would normally think that's the best option..."
Kaylen Fisher muses for a bit, dreams of experimentation flashing through her head.
Io: (Sorry, does anyone have thoughts? I feel like I'm brushing up against the line of my actually making decisions for you.)
Riot: (( I am bad at tactical planning and have no good suggestions lol ))
=^v^=: (( I mean I have thoughts that I voices, what I don't have is a plan xP ))
Riot: (( I kinda just go with the prevailing opinion unless somehow my brain strikes gold. Usually it's fool's gold though ))
=^v^=: (( i mean if we don't have good plan I can suggest questionable ones! ))
Io: (I promise I'm not asking for you to make a plan, but we have outlined a couple of options. What I can't do is chose between them for you)
Itzen: "Nobody here knows our objective yet, so we can pretend to be stealing. Perhaps we can lure one of them to make a run for it via stupidly needing their labor to help steal this drug?"
Itzen: "it's vaguly plausable a reason to release one and if they must continue fighting despite this, we have that answer."
Itzen: "It did not let them surrender before, right?"
Kaylen Fisher: "Waaaait. Like, we wake one up and offer to cut them in if they help us?" She laughs. "That's actually kinda hilarious."
Eileen: "I like it..."
Kaylen Fisher: "And if they attack instead of doing the smart thing and playing along... huh."
Lucky: "It is kinda funny."
Itzen: "I mean if they actually would sell out our target entirely, that would be extremely helpful, but this might at least be a decent check?"
Kaylen Fisher: "This is a good idea. I'm for it. We get good info either way."
Eileen: "Some one can be near the door to the bigger yard to block them trying to get out that way, while we leave the back way out open with someone out back ready to cut them off if they do try and run."
Kaylen Fisher moves over to the north door, blocking the path.
Kaylen Fisher: (I swear, getting these maps to correctly align is just a thing that doesn't happen.)
Riot: (( lol ))
vonel: (( it's alwasy been a problem ))
=^v^=: (( perspective seems to distort grid to not be actually square ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Kinda seems like it. But honestly, it's a price I'm ultimately willing to pay. The maps look way better with perspective.)
Eileen: "Who wants to be out back?"
Io: "I'd suggest Pell, personally. And a second person. Pell would be capable of simply knocking them back inside, if it become necessary."
Itzen looks to Ra, "You spared them and seem to like talking, perhaps you should ask. The dragon is a good shot, perhaps go with Pell."
Io: "I would be willing."
Pell: "Can do."
Kaylen Fisher: "Arright, drop some water on that guy's face, and slap him a couple of times." She peeks out through a crack in the door. "Still just talking out there."
Itzen: "You two, " Itzen remains avoding using names as she tends to do, gesturing to Lucky and Eileen, "Can be sizing up or the like of these barrels, if we need that level of fiction."
Angel of Valor 5: (I'm going to assume that you wake this guy up, since we're talking about it, if that's okay.)
Ra'ven likely has Lill help as she's likely slightly better at waking up someone, think we did leave one of the valors alive in addition to the love. Which one looks like it can carry more xP?
Angel of Valor 5: (The angel of Valor by a wide margin. They are tall, muscular creatures, while the Angel of Love is petite, and shaped more like a young woman than a powerful warrior.)
Ra'ven totally does wake the minion first then
Angel of Valor 5 stirs as you attempt to wake it. The creature has no eyes, no does it have anything recognizable as a mouth, but all of a sudden it becomes obvious that it's no longer unconscious, and is in fact watching you.
Ra'ven: "Oi, you work here obviously. They pay you enough?"
Angel of Valor 5: "You wake me after attacking..." It seems to consider. "No, they do not. The Gray is many choirs above my own. They do not reward; they merely expect obedience, and we must obey. If not, the essence of light is witheld." The angel seems calm. It shows no signs of attempting to either fight or run. "You wish something of me. Speak your desire."
Ra'ven: "... Essence of light?" she frowns, "I mean, there is quite a bit more rather heavy dream goo here then we have hands and importantly wings to take to our sellerss."
Itzen muses about seizing the means of production with a worker revolt
Angel of Valor 5: "Dream goo..." It makes a quiet sound that you realize is a kind of chuckle. "The Soma. Of course. The essence of light is to us what the Soma is to you; the purified blood of the genesis. But for us, it is necessary. Without it, our own existence in this world slowly becomes the dream." It appears to consider. "I may help. Some of the others might as well. But it cannot be a simple theft. If he believes we had a hand in this, even by not fighting hard enough, we will die. There is... more below. Soma in it's unfinished form, of course. It has yet to absorb the Electrum light, and waits its turn. Take much of that as well, or cause great damage. Make him BELIEVE that this was something none of us could have prevented, and I will bring my friends to your cause. We will help you abscond with the barrels if you can bring them here. Remember, we will die if an excuse is not provided."
Angel of Valor 5: (Well, that's annoying. I thought I'd made a token, and didn't. It's fine, I'm just kind irritated.)
Itzen: "Obnoxious that it doesn't care enough about it's underlings to pretend to care about loyality. I suppose if causeing a mess is a condition to getting away with it, that works out. What mechinsim would you die? It wouldn't do to have new workers not make it to the task they are needed for..."
Angel of Valor 5: (Are you asking the way in which they would be killed? Just making sure.)
=^v^=: (( ya, like what the trigger is, how it happens, etc ))
=^v^=: (( maybe it's a deadmans switch or a kill workers button, as opposed to being hunted down or starved ))
Angel of Valor 5: "Starved. He will simply deny us our essence, and we will wither and fade. We know of no other sources."
Eileen: "So it wouldn't matter were you were, he could just turn that off and that would be that?"
Angel of Valor 5: "It would be an act of withholding, not something he would trigger. We require regular infusions of the essence of light in order to exist. He would turn us away, and within a space of weeks we would fade to little more than whispered shadows."
Lucky: "Sounds about right."
Io peeks inside. "I would like to point out that true celestials require no such thing. Recall Tyellenthi, who spent eons trapped without food or drink of any kind. That they require the blood of gods to exist at all is something I find disturbing." Their head vanishes back around the corner.
Lucky: "The way you and she were imprisoned like that still makes my fucking blood boil."
Ra'ven: "Right, and why do you need that guy to get these infusions anyways?"
Io: "And mine. Our captors spoke often in firm but gentle tones, telling us that we could not be allowed to waste our lives in a doomed cause, and that our power would yet be needed." He pauses. "They may even have been right, but it was nevertheless a violation of the highest order."
Eileen: ""I would assume because he's the only one that can do it, they did mention that there was no other sorce kown to them."
Ra'ven: "I wonder why it can then. I mean I assume some other angels exist somewhere..."
Angel of Valor 5: "...I'll not take offense at the comment about "true" celestials. We need him because we know of no other way to acquire the essence. Obviously other sources exist in this world, because our kind exists elsewhere. But attempting to acquire such a thing would mean taking it from another, obviously stronger Haven."
Angel of Valor 5: "If it could even be found at all. I would assume that they guard their sources well."
Angel of Valor 5: "Please, allow me to speak to the others here. I will explain to them." It reaches up to gingerly touch it metallic face. "I think the marks on my flesh will serve to convince them that fighting is not in our best interests."
Angel of Valor 5 peers across the room from its vantage point on the floor. "...and the others here? Do they yet live? I cannot see well from this position."
Ra'ven points to the love angel, "This one does, the other one, our dragon has somewhat negative views of your kind currently."
Angel of Valor 5: (me constantly failing to put the s on the end of its.)
=^v^=: (( I will never bust you on typos unless it's super funny ))
Angel of Valor 5: (Thanks for not being a pedantist.)
Angel of Valor 5: "A sad fate, but one that will merely be shared by the rest of us, if we attempt revenge."
Eileen ponders a moment before sighing and shruging, "Oh well... Before you go speak to them, can you tell us any thing about what is effecting the human guards of this city. They don't seem to run form fights, even if they are aobut to be killed."
Angel of Valor 5 chuckles weakly. "Of course. That is down to us and the High Lady Tynaron. She manufactures some kind of additive which goes into our different powders and potions. Not merely a chemical substance, but one that is truly alchemical. Their minds seem whole until battle begins, and then their agression separates itself from their conscious control. They only sit within their own minds, helplessly observing as their bodies fight a hopeless battle."
Lucky: "That is... fuckin' dark, my guy."
Angel of Valor 5: "Dark and cruel, like the High Lady herself, and like her masters."
Ra'ven: "I mean this place isn't a whole lot better, from what I see, but..."
Angel of Valor 5: "We too are dark and cruel. We bear the same sin."
Ra'ven: "I suppose it's this or death for you though."
Angel of Valor 5: "It is, though there are others who do not see this as slavery, but instead mere employment. To them, the crimes against mortals are trivial. The Gray would certainly see any number of your kind suffer and die in order to secure his own place in the coming regime."
Lucky: "The coming regime?"
Ra'ven: "Seems like it's true with your kind suffering and dying as well, not really a 'kind' thing more a flat ambission thing."
Angel of Valor 5: "Tynaron's masters come. She recruited others, The Gray amongst them. When war occurs, the forces of Adhikaar will be on the front lines, as they always have been. But this time they will be led into a trap, and once it is sprung they will be unable to escape. The armies of Adhikaar, the first line of defense for the League of Five, will die in a single battle, opening the way for the invaders." It chuckles again. "You speak truth. They are an aberrant form, a broken servant who now only serves itself, and feels no compassion for those that are not his own favorites."
Angel of Valor 5: "Tynaron and The Gray care nothing for Adhikaar as anything more than a source of wealth, resources, and prestige. All of these things they have determined are more easily found with those that come."
Itzen: "They fail to realize that geting that from forces that famously only give bad deals has obvious outcomes."
Eileen clentchs her fists, "Soilders diying in battle is expected, but that is just cowardley."
Angel of Valor 5: "Ah. It seems you know whom I speak of. What I have already said is the closest I can come to revealing their identities. That you already understand is a blessing."
Ra'ven: "I mean it sounds pretty smart but the people doing it are rather terrible people and vile betrayers and the like."
Angel of Valor 5: "I am an angel of Valor. To have courage taken and twisted in this way is beyond wretched."
Ra'ven: "Ya, I was wondering about that, if it was just a title or something."
Angel of Valor 5: "It is a title, and also an identity. We are numerous, but far weaker than other angels. And it is in that weakness that our identity is forged. Thousands of us would willing fling themselves at a great foe, knowing that we are likely to die for the cause. If we were strong enough to never die in our battles, we would have no connection to valor at all."
Ra'ven "Like a fey then. Must be annoying to be forced out of your Tale."
Lilium just nods
Ra'ven: "I mean taking stuff for us isn't precisly valourous, but at least it's not working for an unjust oppressor, and is actually working against it..."
Io pokes their head in again. "This is actually fascinating... you are not celestials, but you claim to have an existence akin to their ancient forms regardless." There is a note of sympathy in its voice. "I may have been wrong about you. Perhaps you not seek to usurp their place, but instead have been thrust into it, and remade for that purpose. I wish I knew what you once were..."
Eileen nods for io and Pell to come back in, "Clearly he's not gong to run or fight."
Angel of Valor 5: "All mortals contain the virtues we embody in greater or lesser measure. I would no more expect you to exhibit pure valor in your lives than I would expect you to live on only water."
Io: "Agreed, Eileen. I think we can assume that for now."
Ra'ven nods sagely, and says something in Elven, after Io, but then frowns and repeats, "I mean, dragons have long memories..."
Io: "And mine longer still, but we have no special ability to trace to course of the past. I can see this creature as it now exists, but its origins are a mystery. Though if they require Soma to exist, in implies that something of our world still lives in them... but that thing may be bent or broken, unable to sustain them truly without infusions of divine blood."
Ra'ven: "Perhaps wrecking up the stuff below will give further insight?"
Io: "Irritatingly, there are gods whom I might have sought council on this matter, but they are as absent as the others." They nod. "Yes. That isn't the objective, but if knowledge passes into our hands as we go, I will certainly not complain."
Ra'ven looks to the knocked out other type of angel, "So, that one, think she will be onboard? Love can be of power and status, after all."
Angel of Valor 5: "This is a strange conversation, and difficult to follow... Yes, I believe that this one will agree. Love can be expressed in many ways, both constructive and destructive, just as Valor may be expressed even with acts of malice. The ones that are on this rooftop tend towards the constructive by nature. I cannot guarantee that from those below will be the same."
Angel of Valor 5: "May I shift upright? As you have said, I will neither run nor attack."
Itzen: "My employees backgrounds are occasionaly complex, as you might guess from their diverse appearance."
Angel of Valor 5: "Indeed. Given the disparity of appearance, I would guess that you are either adventurers or mercenaries of some sort, especially since your interest is clearly not actually in the Soma you intend to steal."
Lucky: "Don't see why not. Whatever's comfortable." She nods.
Angel of Valor 5 drifts upward from the ground. With no actual legs, it's as if the angel's entire body simply reorients itself.
Angel of Valor 5: "I thank you. In any case, what I mean to say is that you do not comport yourselves as thieves. You ask questions that thieves would not care to, so you are here for something else. Groups such as those I mentioned are the most likely to have larger goals that they wish to conceal."
Ra'ven: "We are here to steal things, though." she nods, "Doesn't mean you can't have higher goals and asperations."
Lucky: "Sword, sword. Same difference."
Riot: (( this is a "tomayto tomahto" joke, with a specific reference I will post in off topic ))
Angel of Valor 5: (Sord, Sward?)
Riot: (( I posted the comic lol ))
Angel of Valor 5: "Of course. But I do not think that you would be stealing here at all, if not for whatever your other goals are." It waves a hand "I do not ask to be told. Best if you do not, in fact. But you risk much by coming here for something more than material reward... and that valor deserves acknowledgement, and places you above our master, in my eyes. I would fight a thousand thieves without hesitation... but I will become a thief myself, if it is for a greater goal."
Angel of Valor 5: "In his own selfishness, it is possible that the master overlooked that some might wish to infiltrate for reasons other than petty greed, and that we might be sympathetic in such cases."
Angel of Valor 5: (Yup, that's basically the joke I thought it'd be. Heh. Language jokes are a pretty sure way to make me laugh.)
Angel of Valor 5: (Easily nerd-sniped by linguistics and writing craft.)
Ra'ven: "I mean they seem to not care about you and you go to war with the army you have, right? Seems like being surrounded with angels of, I don't know, loyality or order might be difficult? Self intrest would turn, valor, love, greed, justice, vengance, lots of aspects that something could be 'of' and would flip if it lined up. Can't really ignore taking care of people..."
Angel of Valor 5: "Just so. Several Angels of Protection HAVE been enslaved here, but many of them function under duress. There is a simple method to controlling such a being; to convince them that the only way to protect a being in their care is to submit."
Angel of Valor 5: "I cannot believe that more than a bare handful are so twisted that they would wish to protect THIS place."
Angel of Valor 5: "Allow me to call the others over, if you would."
Ra'ven: "Our conversation all well and good, but do not take much offense if we prepair arms in cause they disagree?"
Angel of Valor 5: "Of course. In case it becomes necessary, one such angel of protection, Savennaphon, has posession of a ring of keys. They will open anything but the most secure areas, and so might be of use."
Angel of Valor 5: "They are here, and I have hope that they will listen."
Riot: (( very biblical name, that one ))
Angel of Valor 5: ((Yeah, I'm trying hard not to just end every angel's name with "iel"))
Ra'ven wispers to the group once the valor character is a bit out of whisper range, "Any thoughts on telling the protection person why we need a bunch of stuff to selll?"
Angel of Valor 5: (But I still want them to allude to the idea.)
=^v^=: (( you even have 'ian' to end angel names with too if needed! ))
Kaylen Fisher: "I mean, I've got no idea. It might even be best to tell them some version of the truth. Not sure I want to know what happens if they spot us lying."
Kaylen Fisher: (Yeah, there are plenty of options. It's just that iel is so easy to default to.)
Eileen: "Agreed, I mean from the sounds of it were more or less commiting them to a slow death by killing Grey?"
Io: "We would not be if we uncovered the means by which he creates his Soma."
Io: "I doubt it's something inherent to him."
Eileen nods, "Something to keep any eye out for then..."
Ra'ven: "I'm just guessing but you can't right now, right?" Ra asks Io with a bit of delicacy
Several other angels have exited the surrounding structures, and are gathered in the courtyard. Several of them have weapons drawn, but they don't seem agitated or hostile so far.
Io: "Er.... I believe it would be possible, but it would greatly weaken me. The power must come from somewhere, after all, and I have little of it at the moment."
Eileen: "Rather not bleed you dry... Vul would be up in arms."
Io: "Preparing a single barrel, even if it must be finished in the way they seem to be doing, would make me useless for the rest of this venture. For weeks, certainly."
Io: "I appreciate it. Even if I sympathize with them, many more than them might die if we do not retrieve the Orb. I can contribute more to that cause."
Eileen: "Still... we'll need to get word around about what's happened to the army here... try and find a way to reverse it, if someone even can."
Ra'ven: "Good to know as a baseline though, right? Whatever source is stronger in being that then you..."
Ra'ven frowns quickly, "I mean that in a danger of the source way..." she corrects.
Angel of Valor 5 returns to the door, now holding a ring of bronze keys. "Here. They have agreed to aid you, so long as the Grey can be deceived as to our involvement."
Io whispers just before he comes back. "I understand your meaning, and I agree."
Eileen will take the keys if no one else does, "I think that can be aranged."
Lucky: "Agreed."
Angel of Valor 5: "Good." They pause. "If we are discovered before you complete your task, we will no doubt create an excuse, and will have to join the fight against you. I hope that will not happen, but if it does, do not hesitate to cut us down. Such an end is always a possibilty for us."
Pell: "Hopefully it won't come to that. I rather appreciate friends over enemies."
Ra'ven: "Suppose it might be an ask that if you are forced to die in a doomed conflict, you join our side..."
Ra'ven: "Dying is the thing being held over you and your ilk, after all."
Ra'ven: "And for a dumb cause."
Angel of Valor 5: "All sane creatures do. There is no valor in seeking pointless conflict. Such a thing is only bloodlust." It gives a shallow nod at Ra'ven's words. "Should we be doomed either way, we will do our best to strike out and those we resent most, if there is no cause dear to our hearts in the offing. It is unlikely that the beings we resent most are you."
Itzen: "Oh, I do not know if it's in your offering, but would it be possible to break or otherwise disable some of those balastas up here?"
Itzen continues to not be a fan of being shot by balastae
Angel of Valor 5 hands the keys to Eileen. "The Gray will conduct the communal dream soon, and he will then retreat below to contine experimenting with its substances. There are multiple ways to to attack him, if you plan on doing so, but he'll not disappear easily."
Angel of Valor 5: "We can easily disable the cannons. Do not worry."
Angel of Valor 5: (Pretend that I'm gendering that fucker consistently.)
=^v^=: (( I mean Ra is actually flipping between they and it for the gray. She calls Io they consistantly though ))
Ra'ven: "I do wonder, what is the Gray actually an angel of?"
Lucky: "Angel of dicks, sounds like."
Lucky: "His high holy angel of dickishness. Dickocity."
Angel of Valor 5: "The Gray angel is an angel of mercy."
Angel of Valor 5: "They embody the end of pain... but I believe this one believes pain must first exist."
Eileen: "Loses deffenition of mercy then..."
Angel of Valor 5: "We are bound to ideas, but ideas are subject to interpretation. It is inevitable that some will interpret their purpose in ways that others don't appreciate."
Lucky: "That... was not what I expected. Like, at all."
Itzen: "I find it difficult to think something beileves the world is enough 'without pain' to necessate causing further on principle, let alone in this particular city."
Angel of Valor 5: "For those with means, it offers release from care and worry. For those without, it releases them from the pain of living... and in so doing, alleviates the pain of those with means, who have every reason not to share their lives with those that my cause them difficulty or guilt. Unfortunately, simply embodying mercy does nothing to prevent one from being selective in its application."
Angel of Valor 5: "It is the same reason that I do not valorously fling myself at you, regardless of how I feel about your actions."
Io: "I believe I understand what is happening... they "angels" are allied to the ideas that live within us... the ones I was familiar with were bound to ideas that had true existences apart from your own thoughts and feelings. In my time... well, it is of little matter now, but there were entire realities that provided a definition of what mercy, or justice, or truth were. Now... they are forced to scramble for meaning on their own."
Angel of Valor 5: "This dragon speaks in a way that is irritating. Your pity is not desired, and we are content with being what we are. It is only our present circumstances that are unwelcome."
Io cringes slightly, a seeminglly apologetic gesture.
Io: (sorry i keep talking.)
vonel: (( it's okay, was going to ask any way if it was okay to wrap it up here for the day. I've been really tired all day and I still need to amke something for dinner. ))
Io: (Ah, okay. Yeah, if you need to end it, you need to end it. I'm not interested in forcing people to be here.)
=^v^=: (( I mean we have omnious metal grate and a key for it now and a not plan but an idea for a plan etc ))
Riot: (( That's okay with me, eat and get some sleep and feel better ))
=^v^=: (( so like, if we are done with the current conversation i'm not against it ))
Io: (Yeah. it's pretty easy for me to set things up from here.)
Io: (Go feel better, Von.)
=^v^=: (( we had to start a full hour earlier because of the dumbest of reasons ))
Io: (It is pretty dumb, yes.)
Riot: (( maybe two final eps of Arcane tomorrow ))
vonel: Okay then, night all
Io: (Provided I'm feeling right and such, yeah, love to. Night!)
vonel is disconnected.
Ganaroth is disconnected.
Riot is disconnected.
