Ra'ven: neat
Ra'ven: can you like, click an use a power
Riot: I fully expect it to crash or bluescreen if it uses all the ram
Ra'ven: windows is supposed to have swap enabled and the like so if it _does_ use all of it it merely runs real fucking slow

Eileen: an unexploded riot
Ra'ven: I mean it might not work if you selected targets then your token and the targets weren't currently in the viewport. I don't really remember if that was a thing I changed specifically for the 'new' targeting system
Ra'ven: it flat wouldn't work with the old targeting, for instance
Riot: Ah and yeah hi Von lol
Riot: Main computer still esploded though
Riot: Using laptop
Eileen: that sucks, hope you get it fixed up soon
Riot: Thanks. Gotta do a ram test to figure out if maybe it's just a stick of ram
Riot: hate that I did a fresh windows install and lost all my programs and settings for a hardware issue but such is life
Ra'ven: I, at least, keep the amount of 'settings' I have pretty low as far as that goes, so it's mostly stuff like maybe mod lists or something that wouldn't automatically back up to steam or onedrive
Riot: Gotcha
Ra'ven: so when that happened to me it wasn't super cripling, just annoying
Ra'ven: BUT FUCK DID I HATE FIXING MY FIREFOX TABS
Ra'ven: all my tabs gone, like tears in the rain, backup and transfer of them via firefox is dumb and bad and doesn't include seperate windows or order
Riot: Uuuugh yeah don't remind me about my tabs
Riot: ngl I wish you could download your discord pfp from one pc to the next
Riot: The saved image of my default one is on the exploded pc and it's gonna be a pain to go into the show and find the exact right frame to screenshot

Ganaroth: (waves)
Riot: Laptop gaming over here for now
Ra'ven: woo portable
Ganaroth: I read the first 2 issues of "Absolute Superman," which is DC's take on Marvel's old "Ultimate" reboots. They aren't brilliant or anything, but I'd certainly consider them acceptable for the beginning of an origin story. And some of what is going on is genuinely good, or at least cool. I personally think that they manage to thread a difficult needle with the character, because they clearly want the character to still be a version of Superman, and that the substantial twists to him don't move him into the realm of being a different character entirely. Like I said, I think they actually manage it, which is impressive considering that one of the twists is "Superman actually isn't particularly in love with Earth." Plus, his suit is now essentially his fortress of solitude, being a nanotech thingy that actually gives him nanotechy abilities (in addition to his normal ones.) The advanced tech thing helps emphasize his alien origin, which really helps, since this version actually got to age 12 or so on Krypton, and thus has clear memories of it. It's one of the only versions of superman that sees HIMSELF as an immigrant, rather than more or less a native. Not everything hits, and I think it might take a bit to get used to a superman who is fighting despite a LACK of hope, but it really does feel more like a substantial twist than a totally different character. It will ultimately be pointless of course, as all mainstream comics events are, but at least for now I think they are making the right moves. ANYWAY! Time to play.
Ganaroth: (Lol, text walls from me to a captive audience.)
Last time, there was a fight. You attacked Nosnra, who seems to believe that Samir sent you to kill her (not correct, but not wrong either). An additional enemy came up from behind during this, suggesting that the conflict has been heard at least a short distance away.
This time, there is more fight.

Big Rat 1 shows up, allowing you to see one in the light for the first time. It's as large as an ogre, but while the proportions on an ogre somehow look right for its lumbering frame, this creature's body bulges and distorts in odd, uncomfortable looking places, looking more like a clay figure resculpted by clumsy hands. A dull, vicious smile on its face, it attacks, little humanity evident in its eyes.

Itzen regains her composure at suddenly being on top of a strange jackel-monster that her ally turned into pretty quickly, all things considered!
Ogre Ironclad 2 thanks the Rule of Order that the daze is gone.
Itzen: "Well, today has been full of suprises, I suppose."
Itzen:
  Summon Magma Beast
 Not a wolf though...
Effect: She summons a medium sized magma beast with her defenses, resist 5 fire and speed 4 (8 when charging)
Ogre Ironclad 2: (Uh oh. Summon on the field.)
Itzen:
  Oath of Violence
Right, that guy going to hurt.
Effect: Target is oathed until it dies, at which point this power recharges.
Apply Wolf Cultist can roll twice and take highest with melee attacks vs target if no other foe is adjacent to her
Ogre Ironclad 2: (Always funny that summons count for that, and a thing that I have mixed feelings about, but this isn't the time or place to tackle that.)
Itzen:

  Magma beast intrinsic nature

Apply Slowed
=^v^=: (( err, are you saing my summon _can_ get the double roll? ))
=^v^=: (( if so she's gunna summon it a different square ))
Nosnra: (...By the rules, I think so. It's a melee attack, and the target is the only enemy adjacent to YOU.)
Nosnra: (which is what the ability requires.)
=^v^=: (( ah so it'd need her to not be adjacent to another foe, not the summon ))
=^v^=: (( then it's moot this round and fine where it is and going to take it's intrinsic bite ))
Nosnra: (by the rules. We can discuss later if we want to house rule that.)
Nosnra: (Or, well, you can decide.)
Nosnra: (Since that's your domain.)
Itzen:
  Magma Beast Bite
 Bitey
  (1) Nosnra    Rolled 31 vs. Reflex    —    14 fire damage .
Hit: ongoing 5 fire and slowed save ends
Special: This is done by her summon
Apply Ongoing 5 fire and slow
Nosnra: (hits, obviously)
* =^v^= rolls: 1d6 thunder => 2
=^v^=: (( probably would be mean if it also got her "Does +5 damage each time she's damaged by not-oathed creature vs oathed until end of next turn" ))
Nosnra screams as she collapses, crossbow just beyond her reach. "WAIT! I surrender! I yield!"
Nosnra seems to be clinging to consciousness through the pain, but is not able to move.
Itzen does not have the bairly controled lavacat eat her then (aka doesn't just kill)
Itzen: She gains +5 to damage rolls vs her oath target per hit ended on Itzen I've finished my turn.
Goblin Slave 2 delays, waiting to see what happens.
=^v^=: (( did nosnra have one of our cards we are looking for? ))
Nosnra: (Just because the lavacat didn't kill her with its bite doesn't tell her whether you're going to accept her surrender or not, so she's still moaning and asking for parley.)
Nosnra: (You would have to search her to find out.)
=^v^=: (( I mean in theory ))
=^v^=: (( aka was on the list of people who would ))
Nosnra: (In theory, yes.)
Nosnra: (Yes, she was.)
Itzen: "Easy enough, you give me my people and say, your keycard. We leave. You keep your remaining people and life ?"
Nosnra: "Yeah. Can do that...You'll tell Samir I'm dead, then? I'll... I'll call off everyone. Say it was a drill. Then I leave the city tonight. Don't want his goons chasing me."
Itzen: "The lab keycard is, however, important."
Nosnra: "Other guys here.. you can beat them up. Make it look like they couldn't do nothing. Can't take 'em with. Too big, too noticeable in group." She nods. "Card in uniform pocket. Let me get it out?"
Nosnra is still clearly wary and frightened, but seems to be calming down a bit, since you don't seem like you're going to stab her immediately.
=^v^=: (( lavacat busy looking at big rat like a cat looking at a rat but Ra is giving a 'do not try shenans look' ))
Nosnra watches nervously.
Nosnra: "Don't have to beat up Gatasoro there. He just go invisible and sneak out, though."
Itzen: "If they'd like, sure, do not try anything fancy, however."
Nosnra: "No, no. Won't try. Seems like dumb thing to do, now."
Nosnra: "Just defended. Not going to attack. Don't break word."
Ra'ven: "There are quite a few dumb people left in the world" Ra says in a rather disturbing pich warbling throaty voice
Nosnra raises both platter-sized hands in a conciliatory gesture.
Nosnra: "Yeah, lots of dumb. Me though, not one of them."
Nosnra: "I know when am beat. Try anything, you take my head. Obvious."
Nosnra looks at the wolves. "So... Cult, then?"
Eileen glances at the Ogre next to her
Ogre Ironclad 2 looks nervous.
Itzen: "Yep, Already got the ones up top."
Nosnra: "Right, right. But, two more not there, right? Want information? Can tell you, if you promise tell Samir I'm dead."
Nosnra: "Please. Or, I have money. Can show you safe, give you combination."
Itzen looks in askance to like, Lucky as she has little particular reason to not lie about this
=^v^=: (( basically does anyone feel like giving Itzen a look like they would want to tell Samir? ))
=^v^=: (( her default is someone sutibly terrified of her running off = more chunbi cred ))
vonel: (( Eileen would totaly tell him the lie, unless everone else wanted to tell the truth ))
Ganaroth: (Kay barely knows Samir, and Io is visibly conflicted, but will fall on the side of the lie if nudged. The money offer was very attractive to them.
Riot: (( Lucky probably wouldn't be a big fan of lying to Samir, but if she's not the one to do it, and it can help keep things less volatile, then she'll live ))
Ganaroth: (sounds like a kind of consensus, then.)
vonel: (( lies for days ))
Riot: (( Pell doesn't give a fuck lol ))
Ganaroth: (Hey, you're doing an illicit job already. Can't be TOO stringent about the truth.)
vonel: (( Tzeentch would be proud ))
Riot: (( For Lucky it's just that she doesn't like lying to someone she considers a friend, but like I said ))
Itzen is a secret religious cultist and does, in fact, lie in a normal situation about stuff xP
Itzen: "Keep your money, use it to get away well enough to not get caught."
Itzen: "Do not waste the Wolf's Mercy."
Nosnra: 'No, no... won't waste it." She heaves a sigh, relaxing against the ground, still trying to gather enough strength to move. With feeble gesture, she manages to eventually pull a ring of keys from her pocket. One of them is, as advertised, more of a card or plaque attached to the ring, rather than an actual key, and she points out that one. "Thats one you want. Take the others if you want, though. Other members... hang tomorrow. The 14 hour (2pm, obv). At Mistal Square. All public."
Itzen: "Anyone of note going to be in attendance?"
Nosnra: "Hmmm. No, nobody special. Just guards, but also two golems from Gravelstoke family. Salt ones. Painful." she shakes her head. "Could probably win against one, but hurts a lot. Not worth it for me." She laughs, ending it in a cough.
=^v^=: (( Aside from doing a monster knowledge check on salt golems, anyone have stuff to add? ))
Nosnra: (Hmm. If nobody else wants to, Kaylen will at least make a check.)
Kaylen Fisher:
  : Rolled 31. Arcana
Itzen:
  : Rolled 35. Arcana
=^v^=: (( how unlikely Itzen rolls higher! ))
Kaylen Fisher: "Oooh, yeah. Salt Golems genuinely suck. They aren't overly powerful in strict terms, but they can poison the wounds of people around them, and inflict horrble pain in the process."
Eileen: "Swell."
Kaylen Fisher: "Still, as long as there aren't too many guards, we should be able to take them."
Nosnra: "So... good, then? Let me patch myself up, yeah?"
Itzen: "They are also usually able to drain the moisture out of their foes as well."
Kaylen Fisher: "Ah, crap. I forgot about that part. Yeah, instructor is right. It can turn weaker people into jerky, or weaken the stronger ones so it's difficult for them to move."
Kaylen Fisher: "Protections against necrotic energy and poison would be useful, but probably not necessary, really."
Eileen nods at Kay, "We can worry and prep for that after this, but right now we have that lab to bust up."
Kaylen Fisher: "You're not wrong."
You are now in posession of one of the key. Nosnra commands the Oni, Gatasoro, to show you to where the last few cultists are being held, and you are able to unlock the doors without further incident.
You may, of course, continue to converse and/or ask questions before moving on.
vonel: (( and how many did we need again? it was like 3 or 4 of the 5 or 6 right? ))
Kaylen Fisher: (You need 3, since Dinesh and Samir already gave you theirs)
Kaylen Fisher: (This card acquired mean you need 2 more.)
vonel: (( got it. ))
=^v^=: (( getting more then the min gave some upside as well ))
Eileen: "Do you kow were we can find the holders of the other cards we'll need?"
Kaylen Fisher: (Yeah, there's some bonus for getting an extra, but you don't specifically know what it is.)
Nosnra: "Of course. Which you need?"
Eileen: "I guess either Haarken, or High Lady Tynaron... trying to remember any one else."
Kaylen Fisher: "The Gravelstokes and the Gray Angel, I think."
Nosnra: "Right, easy. Haarken in lower Perfumed Quarter, at kennels, almost always. Tynaron at her laboratoryt, probably. Private one, not the one for the institute. Uh... Gravelstokes in the Marble district. Big new order, so probably all there. Gray Angel at his sactum, or at Sanctuary of Order."
Nosnra seems perfectly willing to talk, and has calmed down considerably. She shows no hesitation in giving you information, and no indication that she intends to do anything to escape.
Eileen: "Well we have options, guess we just need to decide if we want to get all the keys to turn off everything or just enough to get the lab open to get the orb."
Nosnra: "Don't know what happens without five key. Always had five before, but they said can open with four in emergency."
Nosnra: "Sorry. Didn't test, because seemed like a bad idea."
Eileen: "No worries."
Io: "Are we done here, then?" They seem slightly miffed that they didn't gain access to Nosnra's safe, but doesn't press the issue.
Pell: "That would probably be best."
Itzen: "I believe we are, yes."
Io: "Very well." He eyes the guards. "Take care when beating each other up, I suppose."
You're pointed toward the way out, and are easily able to make your exit. As you exit the tunnels down a small drainage gully, stopping only to remove the steel grating at the mouth of the tunnel, a series of chimes ring out; some kind of alarm. At first it seems as though you'd been double crossed, but the absence of guards eventually demonstrates that the alarm is meant to lead them away from your location. A few minutes later, Nosnra herself appears, catching up behind you. "Easiest way out, if pretending to be dead. Can squeeze through. She smiles sheepishly. "Will not bother afterwards. Fucking Samir... he not let me live if I stay. Wanted to beat him, but not to be."
At the other side, she sighs, then waves, quickly disappearing down the rocky slope... amusingly enough probably passing quite close to lucky's bar as she vanishes. She's not stealthy by any means, but considering her size, you don't think she'll have problems getting the standard guards to leave her alone.
Lucky: "It's weird how, when someone like that surrenders, you feel somewhat responsible for them. Even if you're going separate ways."
Io: (Anything else? If not, I think we can probably call it for this session, though I would like to know which target you'll be going after next, so that I can make sure to touch it up.)
Kaylen Fisher: "No kidding. It's like... now we're your buddies, even though we're the reason you have to run at all."
Kaylen Fisher: "And that's not even inaccurate, 'cause we made a promise to them."
Eileen shrugs, "Either way killing someone who has surendered is bad form."
Kaylen Fisher: "I agree. I mean... look, I'm not going to pretend that I wouldn't if I had to. It's great to behave honorably when you can, but I don't really want to die for it. But when it's not too much of a risk... yeah."
vonel: (( any one have any thoughts about who to hit next? ))
Lucky: "Yeah, it's that, but it's also like. She smiles and waves goodbye and you feel like you should, too, even though half an hour ago you were beating each other bloody in a cavernous hellhole."
Lucky: "I dunno. It's weird."
Itzen: "It is useful to have people like that who feel they owe you, or at least should not cross you, out in the world."
Itzen: "Dead people tell different tales then live ones, after all."
Kaylen Fisher: "Yeah, but like, if I was back home, and for some reason I'd tied up a Voidwalker in front of me, I would absolutely not let him go, ever. No matter what I promised, that guy is dead, because no matter what he promises ME, I know that he's going to just be waiting to rip out my lungs."

Ganaroth: Hm, lemme grab a quick bagel.
Ganaroth: Those are much better than slow bagels.
Riot: lol jesus christ
Ra'ven: mmm slow bagel
Ganaroth: Heh. I like how in FIC, some characters have what amount to prestige classes that offer high capability in multiple roles, like Ludmila being a Noble Fighter, so she gets lots of the abilities of both. The funny thing starts happening when it intersects with how xp works in that world. It's gained sorta like Skyrim, in which xp, which is acquired from overcoming challenges, is assigned to whatever class those actions are associated with, or adding up to acquiring a new class if you don't have it already. So Ludmila can, for example, go and do really difficult and annoying paperwork to gain experience as a noble, because administration is part of their skill set... and if she does enough difficult paperwork, she'll get better at fighting, because the noble fighter class does both. It's super silly, but the insanity of it is completely on brand, given that it's a world corrupted by these arbitrary rules.
Ganaroth: I sometimes love this shit. Anyway, thanks to the fast bagel, I'm now ready to start.
Ganaroth: If you folks are.
Riot: Ready whenever, I'm just in the background writing
vonel: I'm ready
Ra'ven: sure
Last time on DND, you were able to strike an unexpected deal with Nosnra, who it turns our was more than happy to bargain for her life once pressed. She gave you her key, and told you where to find the location where the two missing prisoners would be hanged tomorrow. She parted ways with you at the sluicegate exit, apparently eager to skip town before Samir caught wind that she was still alive. Now you and the freed cultists stand outside, free for the moment.
Eileen looks at the cultists and then back ot the othes, "So are they just going to be following and hidding our whole way though here? Cause I feel like we should have them get out now before everything starts going off big time."
Halfling Cultist: "Probably best to lay low, like you said. I don't suppose you know a convenient safehous?"
Lucky: "As a matter of fact..."
Lucky smirks
Halfling Cultist: "Oh, good. I was really hoping you'd say that."
Halfling Cultist: "We can probably make it on our own, if you tell us where. They ain't looking for us, so even Grumpy over there should be able to sneak by." She indicates the dwarven cultist next to her, who scowls in response.
Dwarf Cultist scowls.
Halfling Cultist: "...famous dwarven stealth, am I right?"
Lucky: "I mean, personally I could use some rest. Can't do anything til tomorrow, right?"
Kaylen Fisher: "Doesn't sound like it, no. Lucky's right. Should try to rest up when we can. Tomorrow could be long, if we're planning on following up the event at the gallows with an attack on, say, Haarken." She shrugs. "No idea when they might crack open that orb, after all."
Itzen once her Grypon meets back up, offers them the decent made non-obvious cloaks she grabbed for this sorta thing.
=^v^=: (( non-obvious being like, just normal cloaks ))
Pell: "Deket should know as well as anyone a way to smuggle you to safety. If nothing else, no one important ever really frequents the bar, and everyone there knows to mind their business."
Kaylen Fisher: (Right right. You want masks too? It's not like you can't have some bandanas or whatever, but you might not need them yet. Up to you.)
Io: "Excellent. The distance is short to your establishment."
=^v^=: (( I mean if thats' the standard, Itzen would have gotten the 'blend into crowd' bit for the rescued people ))
As advertised, it's only a short walk to the bar, nestled as it is near the cliffs from which the drainage sluice issues. Deket seems a little surprised at the crowd, once he's roused from slumber, but he recovers, and immediately sets to getting them settled in. There are two many of them to comfortably sleep in the bedrooms, but they manage to organize themselves by splitting it between resting and drinking.
Deket: "Do you want me to close shop tomorrow, just in case anyone recognizes your new buddies?"
Lucky: "Might be more suspicious if you did, honestly. I'd hope I've built us a reputation for respecting clients' privacy, and making the people who don't regret it. Instantly and painfully."
Riot: (( "who don't, regret it". You know what I meant. Feh lol ))
Deket nods. "Will do, then. I can continue to back up the threat too, but I'll try to go a little easy. Don't want to attract attention from the gendarmerie."
Deket: "Imma give them a few free beers, if you don't mind. Could probably use it, after prison."
Lucky: "Of course. As much as they'd like."
Deket: "Now that's the you I know and love." He turns, and begins to draw a few pints for the cultists who are still downstairs."
Kaylen Fisher: "Ok, so... I assume we're going to crash at Glentes's place. Or find an inn, I guess. There's certainly not enough room here."
Kaylen Fisher: (I can't really move on until you confirm or deny.)
Lucky: "I'm up for wherever there's a warm bed, at this point."
Pell nods
Eileen: "Sounds good, might be best to try and crash at Glentes's place. Probably less likely any one looking for us, if there are any, would try there."
That decided, the group is able to relocate without much trouble. It's a moderate walk back to the apothecary's, but the given the darkness, only partially illuminated by the shining lamps along the way, you're pretty sure that none of the guards you pass see you. The streets are still active, of course, but the night is reaching towards its midpoint, and the population dwindles by the minute. Even despite the long night, most people tend to gravitate to a cluster of common schedules, and the largest one is currently turning in for bed. Glentes opens the door when you ring almost immediately, a look of relief on his face.
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: "Thank Garmera. I'd hoped you'd make it. I... assume that you were successful." He looks past you, as though trying to see if you're running from the guards.
Eileen: "Still kind of in the middle of it actually."
Itzen: "For the most part. Some were moved to the execution grounds."
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: "Oh, I see." The worry on his face increases. "Can I do any more to help? A couple more potions have finished brewing." He looks embarassed. "I would have had more before but there was an incident... never mind. Boring story."
Pell: "Wouldn't be smart of us to turn help down, in whatever form it takes."
Itzen: "There was quite a bit of automated balasta bolts firing at us."
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: "Please, help yourself then. I have a couple of extra healing potions. And I also have some strong acid available. It was for a set of quickbond paste, but I realized it might be more useful to you. You could... throw it at enemies? Or use it to dissolve locks, or whatever else." He sighs. "Unfortunately, most of the people who purchase from me aren't adventurers or warriors. Mostly they're townsfolk, looking for a philtre or unguent to help them with everyday problems. Most of what I have is for that."
Riot: (( I have just found myself in the weirdest position, that being "having to explain to someone in TYOOL 2024 what DeviantArt is" ))
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: (Fuck. That's it, I'm too old, time to pack it in.)
=^v^=: (( furaffinity for normies ))
Riot: (( She's as old as we are, just not very online ))
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: (Ah, okay. So it's not that she's moved on to what the kids are actually using, but that she's disconnected. That makes me feel better.)
Glentes: Wolf Cultist: (Because I do not like the replacements.)
Riot: (( Yeah. She's in the old people's She-Ra server, and Sydney just posted an Arcane art piece from 2014 with Jinx and Vi being sad sisters, that LoL shared and credited to a DeviantArt user ))
Riot: (( anyway back to potion man ))
=^v^=: (( fanfiction.net for illustrators then ))
K. Anyway, you grab a couple more potions, also receiving his assurances that he'll be up all night brewing more. He smiles, saying that if he can't sacrifice a few nights sleep while you are risking your lives, he couldn't possibly raise his head to the sky again.
For those of you who actually sleep, your rest is fitful. You find yourself walking in darkness, but somehow, instead of the wall of stars to side of the column, they stretch out above you, covering the sky above, and a shining sliver, the same pale color as Garmera's silver orb but narrowed to a sideways crescent, shines amongst them. Beneath your feet is a film of still water, and as you watch, that water ripples with a silent footstep. You turn, trying to catch sight of the source, but all you manage to catch is a bare glimpse of silver-blue as it darts back around each time to your blind spot. Each time it does so, you can feel a gentle touch on your back, the touch either playful or curious, or possibly malicious, soaking in your discomfort. A growl; a deep, blood-red snarl... and then you awaken.
Riot: (( That sounds... not fun ))
Eileen just idles the night away
Ra'ven remains sleepy as she tends to do in 'mornings' such as they were.
Io: (Sorry Eileen! Character that don't dream don't get weird dreams, usually.)
vonel: (( no worries ))
Itzen sighs and seeks out the tiny dragon
Io is already awake, and tearing into a whole chicken for his breakfast. He raises his head as you approach, licking the blood from his mouth, and blowing to shoo away a couple of feather.
Itzen: "That dragon you spoke of, would it tease dreams?"
Io: "Itzen, greetings." He nods. "A green would, yes. They are more than capable, and manipulating others by placing tiny ideas in their heads is one of their favorite tactics. If it is him, I'm afraid that I don't know what this could mean." He turns aside, seemingly having difficulty meeting your eyes. "I experienced it as well, of course."
Itzen: "Ah, it seems like a teasing dream, which I'd expect of a fey but the only one we have even encountered is her, sort of..." she gives a sidewise glace to Ra, who is currently half-awake teleport lurching towards something to eat.
Io: "Ra'ven is many thing, most of which should have more trouble mixing than is evident. But I've not seen her exhibit any dream related powers."
Eileen galances at the others a look of curiousness on her face, "Something I missed?"
Itzen: "It seems we might have had the same dream."
Io: "...It was a vexing circumstance. It has been a long time since anything was able to force a dream on me that I did not wish."
Ra'ven: "Same? I just had a dream about playing tag..."
Ra'ven: "Suppose I'm usually better at it then that though..."
Io: "...with a silver figure, under the light of the stars, and the moon." They pause. "...That which existed before Garmera, in my time. That silver crescent."
Eileen: "I see..."
Itzen: "... I'm sorry, before Garmera?"
Io: "... I sometimes wonder if Sehanine is looking out at us from Garmera's eyes, or Pelor..." They look at Itzen, raising an eyebrow ridge. "Well, yes. Did you think she always was?"
Lucky: "Io is old. Like old old."
Lucky walks in, munching on a pastry that she found.
Io: "Accurate, yes."
Eileen: "Even what memories I have of that past age when this body was built still had Garmera in the sky, but I do know of the storys of her not being there."
Itzen: "Err... this world is... " a pause, "I mean the Wolf above, the Storm below and the Land between is... as old as eachother?"
Io: "Garmera came to this place from elsewhere, and supplanted the order that existed before. The prior sources of light in this world, who were my friends, were devoured, replaced by whatever shines there now." They scoff. "Yes, indeed. All as old as each other, yes, but still terribly finite. All as old as each other, because the stars were moved and the storm quickened as the wolf consumed and transfigured all that existed before that."
Itzen: "is it the same world then?"
Io: "It depends on how you define such a thing. In my time, there were in fact many world. But all the worlds that I once knew seem to have collapsed into this one. Hestavar, and Celestia, and The Astra Sea. Baator, and the Outlands, and the Elemental Chaos. None of those exist now, as far as I can tell, but at least one of them seems to still exist in some form. Is THAT the same world? It either is, or is not, but whatever answer you decide upon, the wreckage of that event still lies around us, and my own prison still remained, waiting for me to be released."
Io: "It is either the old world transformed, or a new one built amidst the echoes of the old. You may think of it as you wish."
Io: "And if it makes you feel better, neither I nor anyone else in my time new where the wolf came from, or what it had done before. For all I know, its history might stretch back far longer than my own memory."
Io: (aaaaaugh so many typos.)
Io: (Self hate rises.)
Itzen: "I... suppose such worlds must have not been as lonely as it sounds to have a sky without Her...."
Io: "We were not. Or at least, no lonelier than you. You may attribut that either to us not knowing what we were missing, or to the fact that we had other things instead. Frankly, I find it amazing that you continue to function without the grace and protection of the gods. I've talked to a so-called Cleric in the world, and I'm frankly still confused how he can draw divine power from a metaphorical concept of death."
Io pauses. "....Why would this dragon remember the moon?"
Itzen: "You do..?"
Io: "No, no. The green, whom we assume sent this vision."
Io: "It has been untold thousands of years since it shown."
Itzen: "Perhaps a Maze brought the knoledge."
Io: (shone)
Itzen: "Though I hear dragons tend to avoid them..."
Eileen: "Inherented memories maybe?"
Itzen: "There are... well, somewhat literarary 'myths' about magics that let you transfer your thoughts to another, possibly younger. Or store them in objects."
Itzen: "The latter I think someone has even found evidence of, though that was not really my dicipline.... Perhaps Miss.." pause, "My former studend would know more?"
Io hisses. "The Mazes I hear of... the more I hear of them, the less I like. Not least of which because I cannot yet understand what they ARE. No such things existed in my time. Places of power of many kinds, yes, but nothing so... complete... as what I've heard." They consider Eileen's statement. "I can't rule it out. Dragons do not inherit memories with the same reliability as, for instance, Aboleths, but the things most important to the parent can be passed down. It is conceivable that a chain of memories (lol, I can't believe that is the best way to phrase it.) might have reached from the past into the present."
Itzen: "What they are, they are were specific concepts are housed. The larger mysery is what made them, as their forms are not that of their concepts. Perhaps there is a Maze of Mazes that trapped the rest, aside from Wolf and Storm"
Kaylen Fisher: "The myths exaggerate a little. Thought receptacles are possible. We sometimes engrave them into glass plates, when a concept is really hard to explain in words. But they're fragile, so it's used sparingly. Something about glass or crystal being the most effective medium. It's not my field. But the important bit is that they usually store and replay a CONCEPT. Knowledge in raw form. You don't get an actual image out of it; you'd just recognize the image if you saw it later. You'd know what this... moon? You'd know what it was, and you could identify it as that silver sliver thing. But you wouldn't actually be able to do more than make up your own interpretation of what it MIGHT look like until you actually saw it, sorta like if you tried to describe... I dunno, some kind of landscape I've never seen, to me. And if I'd just been making it up in my head, I don't think it would be so clear." She grimaces. "Ones that can grab real memories... there are rumors that the Emirate has access to those kinds of secrets, but if so he's not letting it out of the palace."
Io: "We'd be foolish to assume this Green couldn't infiltrate the Ruby Palace. But I don't know why he would want to."
Itzen: "It seems a bit of a stretch to assume the Emir had a secret real memory of this 'moon', that this specfic dragon stole and and then decided to taunt us with the memory that no living creature could reasonably know of, unless they read it from your mind..." to Io
Itzen: "This thing was your friend, after all. Do you dream of them normally? Finding a secret thought in someone's head sounds like a bit more schmer trick."
=^v^=: (( thing being moon ))
Eileen: "So why would he taunt any one with an image of the moon when only one of us would even know what the moon is, seems... out of place."
Io: "If it is him, I can almost guarantee that he's not old enough to remember it himself. In fact, I very much doubt that he is so much as an ancient, since the city is neither dancing entirely to his song, nor a smoking heap of rubble." They go quiet. "...I do, at times. It's possible." They seem to deflate a bit. "My weakness may be putting us in danger. I assumed that despite my ability to sense him, he could not sense me. What if this is true, and he is taunting us? Reaching into my own memories, to show how vulnerable we are? Or..." They shake their head. "No, Eileen is right. It's a strange thing to do. It's possible that planting an image like that will influence us in some way, but if so I do not know the objective." Another pause. "Or it isn't him at all. It is best I remember that this is speculation."
Io: "I apologize for my instability. Seeing her again, even like that, has struck me."
Eileen: "Right, if it is him we'll deal with it when it comes up, if it's not we'll deal with who ever it is when they finally show themselfs."
Itzen: "Your 'weakness', even in this possible situation, isn't even unique to the party. You are considering yourself weak for perhaps failing to overpower a dragon who's modus operandi is playing mind games. That.. isn't what you do, correct? Perhaps lament not being stronger then an older dragon, but keep in mind that's true of basically everyone."
Io: "Yes, of course. Itzen, an association has occured to me, though I do not know if it amounts to anything. In my time, wolves were often associated with the power of the moon, and appeared alongside that iconography. Werewolves, in that time, were often governed by the cycle of the moon, transforming involuntarily under its light when it shone strongest." They give Itzen a level stare. "But he's not an older dragon. He's barely an egg compared to me. And it absolutely is something I do. I am all hues, all metals, all gems. Anything he is exists in me. The fact that my defenses were simply set aside by something, anything, is embarrassing in the extreme."
Io: "At least I'm not the only one whose sleep contained a visitation. Though I'd not say that if there was any apparent harm."
Itzen: "You seem trustworthy and loyal, though.. It would seem to reason not all aspects are as outspoken..." Itzen says a bit delicatly, not wanting to offend further with a a complement.
Io: "...I accept your compliment in the spirit in which it was given." They give their version of a smile, clearly attempting to reassure you. "Though I am proud of all my natures, when not taken to extremes, I recognize that some are more widely appreciated. And I accept praise for those willingly." They cough. "In any case... do we have anything to discuss before going to the gallows?" A pause. "To rescue our targets, I mean. It sounds rather morbid otherwise."
Itzen: "We should likely bring along some water, if nothing else for recovering from those golems."
Itzen: "Well, more then otherwise."
Lucky: "Good call."
Kaylen Fisher: "Gosh." She shakes her head. "You know, I was wracking my brain, thinking of some useful way to help avoid any lasting injury from that, and duh, water. Apparently I don't have a master's seal in common sense."
Kaylen Fisher: "I kept thinking of magic stuff."
Itzen: "It... is part of why my classes were about the mundane swordfighting..." she sighs, "Of which I apoligize to you, since my actual way of fighting has many other aspects..."
Kaylen Fisher: ((Tell me when you are ready to go to the gallows, btw))
Kaylen Fisher: "No, no, don't worry about it. Mine too, now, and they're different from yours. But everything you taught me really forms the foundation of it. Learning it the way you taught me, from the beginning, lets me come up with my own moves."
Itzen looks visibly releaved, "I somewhat feared people would think I am holding back for sinisiter reasons, which, while true, was not targeted at you..."

Lucky: I'm alright, gotta reattempt tomorrow on the "crawling under the house" thing which sucks because today was the only dry day
Ganaroth: Boo. Sorry.
Ra'ven: I got to ride shotgun on a truck through a snowy pass moving thing
Ganaroth: Hey Von. Can you check in so I know you're here?
Ra'ven: it turns out frozen hell is also other people
Ganaroth: Snrk.
Ganaroth: Not bad.
vonel: yeah sorry
vonel: going to make some food, so might not respond right away
Ganaroth: No, it's okay! I just didn't want to start and find out that you were in a different room and missed... whatever.
Ganaroth: Yeah, is okay, as long as I know it's happening.
The crowd shift and murmers, electric with a grim anticipation. There are scores of people in attendance... more, even, and the're all waiting to see the bodies fall. Those of you familiar with the place understand that it isn't exactly an expression of cruelty; these executions would be happening either way, and it's part of the character of the place to take enjoyment where you can. Nevertheless, the sight of bookies working the crowds, taking bets on whether a given prisoner will have their neck broken, strangle to death, or be decapitated by the drop, is substantially offputting to others. The gallows are bathed in full light, as is the surrounding area, providing an uninterrupted view of the spectacle. On the platform, two men, a goblin and an elf, stand with nooses about their necks. The hobgoblin up top crashes his mace against a bronze gong, and raises his hands to attract the crowd's attention. "The end of life to those who take life! A just punishment for bringing chaos and violence! For their crime, for attempting to tear our rulership from their places of strength and instead foment disorder and strife, we bring retribution.!" He turn about, addressing all sides. "We will not bow. We will not break. Our live are our own, and though Lansir collects tolls on our ports and steals the brazhst from our bowls, we shall not simply give ourselves to them." He smiles, showing sharpened teeth. "Let them come for us! We will fight their agents as they appear, and by inches we will regain ourselves. These cultists of the Silverfang act on behalf of our overlords to weaken us, and to create dependence. But as they use criminals to fight their battles, they allow us to treat them as criminals. Today, they feel the force of vengeance enacted through law!"
Ganaroth: (You may feel free to place yourselves wherever you want. The milling crowd allows you to choose your own positioning. A caution, though. Although these guards don't look particularly savvy, it's not impossible that one of them might sense that something is off.)
=^v^=: (( hm ))
Riot: (( Open to suggestion ))
Kaylen Fisher: "Wow. This guy just says the quiet part out loud like it's nothing. Is that normal, you two?" She says this to Lucky and Pell.
Lucky: "This place is a revolution every year. It's like a festival, almost. Doesn't surprise me at all, honestly."
Itzen: "It's slightly annoying they have the wrong branch."
Itzen: "Any ideas on how to prevent them from shooting the prisoners?"
Kaylen Fisher: "I can imagine." She shrugs, and her voice goes sympathetic. "Most people dfon't get the difference between your sects. Heck, even I'm not completely conversant." She thinks about the issue. "Well, the best way I can think of would be to hit them hard and fast enough that they don't want to waste time attacking noncombatants. Uh... and maybe sever the nooses as quick as we can, so they can run out of there on their own feet?"
Ra'ven: "Would likely be easier to bite through them then to hit with arrows correctly..."
Kaylen Fisher: "Yeah, probably, You can probably get in there quick, right? Do you think you could survive in there long enough to get them free, and for us to catch up?" Her face goes thoughtful. "Maybe if Lucky gets close the gate and shoulder checks it into dust, you could run in there quick, and we... come in aftrerward and try to occupy them and take the heat off you? Sorry, I'm not really a tactician. I'm just looking at those gates like they're nails, and Lucky is a mighty, mighty hammer."
Io: "I'm a bit cautious about tactics that require one of us to become isolated from the group, after my recent experience..."
=^v^=: (( how isolated from surrounding stuff is this battlefield? LIke are there nearby buildings? ))
Lucky: "To be fair, if I'm able to break the gate, I could hop on Ra'ven's back if she's going full wolf mode. Then between the two of us we could slice or bite their nooses."
Ra'ven: "Not really a wolf... also slightly obvious.. Hmm... maybe light something on fire as a distraction?"
Io: ((You're in the middle of a plaza. Their are other buildings to all sides, but it's further to them than any of you could reach in a single round.))
Kaylen Fisher: "Light up what, though?"
Kaylen Fisher: "I'm not against a little light arson, but I'm mostly against doing it in a place that could kill civilians."
Ra'ven gestures at the dead looking trees
Kaylen Fisher bites her lip. "Maybe... what's the aim? If you light up a tree, it's not like they're going to all rush out to douse it. I suppose that they might open the gates, though..."
Ra'ven: "Distract them, split their attention so they might not just work together effectivly..." She hmms, "I mean, someone could rile up the croud I guess, but I don't really know this one."
Ra'ven blinks, "... a riot probably would get those people hurt or killed though... huh."
Io: "Yes. I'm also not sure what it would get us. The crowd becoming violent would cause them to pay more attention to the gates, not less. Unless you think to somehow make the crowd break the gates down for us." Their voice seems skeptical.
Lucky: "Crowds around here would be more primed to flee and hurt each other than rush the armed soldiers. At least in my experience."
Ra'ven: "Well, attention on the gates and crowd isn't attention on the guys tied up..
=^v^=: (( wonder if they are tied up too much to telport away ))
Io: (Probably not)
Ra'ven: "Suppose I could poof them away if we get a little closer then the gate
Ra'ven:

Effect: Teleport ally to adjacent.
(1) Eileen  Eileen   Effect: The ally is teleported to a square adjacent to Ra'ven. All foes adjacent to the square the ally left take 5 fire damage.
Ra'ven demonstrates it on Eileen
Io: (Sounds good, if you can get within 5 of a prisoner so you can use it.)
Io: "Teleporting them away isn't a terrible idea, but I hope you aren't counting on them not noticing. I very much doubt that you can walk up and teleport the prisoners away completely unnoticed, no matter how unruly the crowd."
Ra'ven: "Oh no, but there is less they can immediatly do about it is all."
Ra'ven: "Less me being in the middle to cut them free, that sort of thing
Io: "Obviously I will fight alongside you, but I feel as though I should ask what you envision the course of battle to be, here."
Ra'ven hmms
Ra'ven: "I mean, we could kick in a gate, the big guys would come at us, but I could swipe our allies off the platform before they know that guarding the ladders isn't effective? Then the allies can hopefully run away as we hold off the guys or kill them or destroy them or whatever?"
Io 's body language relaxes a bit. It's only after this that you realize that they had tensed up. "That could work, if you wait for them to move out of position..."
Io: "What do the rest of you think? It seems... propitious... to use such wolfpack tactics in this situation, if that matters."
Ra'ven: "Plus you can zap those guys up top a bit to make them shoot at us too" a pause, "I mean I could shoot at them too, its not like I don't look like an archer right?"
Io: "If you think that will be helpful. I would beware alerting them, though. I doubt they'll ignore being attacked from your direction, even if snatching the prisoners confuses them."
Io: "Still, if we can put enough pressure on them from the other direction..."
Io: "...I'd be willing to try."
Lucky: "Just point me where you want me."
Io: "Next to one of the gates, most likely. If you can smash it down, we can try to force our way in, to pull their attention. And, well... you're the one of us who can knock walls down with a tap."
Riot: (( until she rolls a 1 lol ))
Io: (Well, that is always a risk.)
Io: (Sadly, there are few guarantees in this game.)
=^v^=: (( I mean 1's don't fail skill checks ))
Io: (I took the statement to mean "unless I roll too low." Telling you whether a 1 would cause failure or not in this case is sorta not how this works, although you can of course inspect the gate to see how sturdy it is. Note, however, that there is not a truly infinite amount of time before they start pulling levers.)
Riot: (( Point me at a gate and tell me when to try and break things ))
Io: (Like, literally? Or are you just saying you're ready?)
=^v^=: (( von, got any suggestions? ))
Riot: (( Saying I'm ready and also I just need to be pointed at which gate people would like Lucky to attempt to break ))
vonel: (( nope ))
=^v^=: (( so we going in from oppisite sides or the same side and holding the line? ))
Io: (I think you can pick the gate. The difference between them is fairly minor.)
Io: (Io assumed that the party woulld be clustered at one gate, except for Ra, who would sneak people out the back. He also assumes that Ra won't have a problem getting there, despite the fact that the prisoners aren't within immediate range of that teleport ability.)
=^v^=: (( can ra teleport through the gates? are they solid walls or like, metal pipes ))
Io: (You can teleport easily through the bars.)
=^v^=: (( so for placement's sake, doing left and right doors prob best ))
Io: (Feel free to set yourselves up. This quest has the players as the aggressors, so you get to choose how to order yourselves a lot of the time.)
Adhikaar Jailer 1 's eyes pass over the group assembling at the east gate, but don't appear to note you as dangerous.
Kaylen Fisher: (Heh, east. East, West, South and North are just meta terms to discribe directions on the battle map. They don't exist in the world itself, nor do the concepts in any real fashion.)
=^v^=: (( also important, gate is just the boundry line right? it's not 5' thick? ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Correct.)
Kaylen Fisher: (So you would, for instance, be able to grab a prisoner and teleport them "adjacent" to you, on the other side of the gate.)
=^v^=: (( precissly what I was hoping ))
Kaylen Fisher: (I figured. )
Kaylen Fisher: (Well, if you're ready for an enormous clusterfuck, feel free to bust this fucker down.)
Riot: (( You want me to attempt to break now? ))
=^v^=: (( I assume it starts with a lucky ))
Riot: (( Okay cool ))
=^v^=: (( possibly some init dunno ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Yeah, we can also roll init.)
Riot: (( before or after I attempt this ))

=^v^=: (( handy ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Strictly speak you could see her, but in this case I don't think you could see her enough that it would mean anything. It's like you'd get flashes of people

=^v^=: (( took a sec to find if Io has any strange smoll dragon interactions, which the answer is YES but not to atheletics ))
After splitting up and leading the guards on a merry chase, you manage to lose them. The story of your raid is no doubt already spreading, and the guard patrol are likely to have increased, but it shouldn't be a problem for the moment. You're able to outdistance you pursuit, and reach your destination (I assume either Lucky's bar or Escrish's shop).
Ganaroth: (And nobody even had to to lose healing surges!)
Ganaroth: (Or some other penalty.)
Riot: (( Either way. I was intending for Lucky and Pell to head to the bar, since this wasn't a really well discussed escape plan. If no one shows up they'll likely head to Escrish's place ))
Ganaroth: (Io mentioned the drinking place, I believe, so he'd also be heading there.)
Ganaroth: (hopping from roof to roof in order to stay ahead of the land-bound pursuers.)
Ganaroth: I'd really like to know if that's where you are going.)
Itzen would be going there ya
Eileen would eventually make her way back there
Ganaroth: (I will assume Ra also, then.)
Ganaroth: (Cool.)
Ra'ven probably would try to tell the rescued people, if she could find them a bit easily, where to go, but give up if it was difficult or risky
You don't see them immediately. Neither of them know about the bar, so they didn't try to go there. They might be at Escrish's shop, or they might be laying low elsewhere.
Kaylen Fisher orders a pint of beer when she arrives, smiling at whoever is already there. "So. That went well."
Ra'ven does the aformentioned give up and goes to the bar
Kaylen Fisher: (You can all short rest, btw)
Kaylen Fisher: "Pretty close to ideal, really."
Itzen: "Much less problematic, yes, though I will be sticking to water for a bit, given the prior foes...""
=^v^=: (( prob should get the other encounter heally out of elieen for Lucky but ya ))

Eileen: "We'll need to move soon, there going to be a lot more alert now then they were before."
Kaylen Fisher: (Lucky can probably heal an extra couple of points for free, since as mentioned Eileen could use her remaining word to boost it.)
vonel: (( I did ))
Kaylen Fisher: (Oh, I saw the 18 on the wrong person. My bad.)
Ra'ven: "Ah ya, that was pretty strange, I've never used that trick like that before... Usually making something disappear in a puff of fire isn't sneaky."
Kaylen Fisher: "Yeah, no kidding. After we catch our breath, we should get going. Anyone have a plan? I mean, we accepted Nosnra's surrender, and escaped from the hanging... but does anyone really want to spare this Haarken guy?"
Kaylen Fisher: "From what we heard, he's pretty awful."
Eileen shrugs
Lucky: "From what we heard earlier, I'd be fine with sending him to whatever constitutes an afterlife."
Itzen: "That sort of thing is local politics..."
Pell shrugs as well, "We need his key, as it is."
Io: "...do you know, I have no idea how the afterlife works now? I once had a hand in it, but the worlds and planes involved no longer seem to exist."
Kaylen Fisher: "I know it's local politics, but the job doesn't say that we CAN'T kill him. And the guy apparently tortures animals. I'd be willing to spend a little extra effort."
Eileen nods to Kay, "I'm sold."
Kaylen Fisher: "Thanks!" She shakes her head. "Folks, if you need to fucking break a creature in order to use it, you probably shouldn't be using it."
Kaylen Fisher: "You know. Morally. I do occasionally care about that."
Deket: "Hey folks. Welcome back." Deket walks up, classically cleaning a glass. You notice that, unusually, he's wearing the bar club rather than having it stowed, and he's keeping an eye on the entrance.
Itzen lets out a deep breath, "Perhaps i should clarify: I am not, at this juncture, particularly neutral on violent outcomes, feeling-wise."
Deket nods. "Don't even know what you're talking about, but I already agree."
Itzen: "It is not a good idea for me to give in to those thoughts, so I wish to allow others to."
Deket: "Just so you all know, your friends are doing fine. Treated 'em like family."
Eileen: "About if were going to kill Haarken or not... leaning tworads killing him at the moment."
Itzen nods, "And I appreciate that, but... Well... I am not one of the Silverfang, but I DO know why they are like they are."
Pell: "Guy has a thing we need, guy hurts animals, Dek. Pretty sure we're gonna pop him, at this point."
Deket: "Ohhh.. that's the next one?" He nods. "Nobody is gonna be listening in here, just so you know. There are all regulars, and they ain't nosy types."
Deket: (*They're all regulars)
Itzen pales slightly more then her normal pale and drinks more water, "Ah.. .right..."
Deket: "Don't worry about it. Like I said, we're safe enough." He looks at the doorway again, but it just seems like caution, rather than anything suspiscious. "I actually asked your friends some questions about Haarken, to see if it might help. Got a little info about his place, if you want it."
Deket: "They were plenty happy to share what they remembered about the place."
Eileen: "Sure, any info about what were going to be walking into is always welcome."
Deket: "Alirghty then. It's a small complex, but there are still dangers. Haarken's main lair is underground, beneath an outdoor kennel and aviary. It's possible to bypass it, but there are guards. And also a few Wyverns. Those wouldn't be able to follow you down, but they're still out there. There's also a small guard post nearby. If someone alerts them, they could reinforce Haarken's place." He purses his lips. "According to them, it's fairly possible to bypass both of those and just get downstairs, but if you're detected it could spiral pretty fast, so that's a call you gotta make."
Itzen: "Supose it's good to have a few antidotes if we do fight wyverns."
Deket: "If you don't got any, I have a few lying around here." He shifts. "You try not to overserve, but sometimes people disguise it right up until they pass out. I keep a couple on hand so that nobody just poisons themselves and dies here."
Deket: "Haven't ever USED one, but better to have and not need, right?"
Lucky: "Thanks for that. Wouldn't want to have that hit on our rep, or you to have to deal with it."
Deket: "Agreed. I didn't want to deal with it either, heh."
Deket: (You may add three antivenoms)
Itzen: "I dislike venomous mounts..." she sighs, "It just causes too many traning incidents."
Eileen: "Indeed, but usful if you can pull it off."
Deket: "Now, I don't know what critters are down in the basement, except for a bunch of wolves being broken into obedience, but the guy is called "The Beastmaster."" He rolls his eyes. "I expect those aren't the only things down there. Up top, though, they said that there are a couple of trained basilisks, so be careful."
Itzen: -.-
Itzen takes a deep breath
Deket: "Yeah, annoying, I know."
Eileen: "We can try and knock those out if it comes to it."
Lucky: "If they're early enough in the process, maybe we can encourage them to turn on their handlers."
Deket: "The cultists managed to sneak past 'em last time, so getting by them isn't impossible." He visibly considers Lucky's proposal for a moment. "Could be, I guess. Honestly, could work on any of his pets, if they early on."
Deket: "Wouldn't bet on the Wyverns, though. Something tells me that he ain't gonna have have flying pets who aren't completely trained yet."
Itzen: "It's... fine " she sighs, "There isn't really a 'rehab' for such creatures." Another pause, "Perhaps ironic, that if they were not of the land" pause, "If they were of one of the Disasters instead I could force obediance...."
Deket shrugs. "Sorry. Some of his pets might have been Claimed during a cycle incursion, but they're stuck here now."
Deket: ((Creatures that manifest during a cycle can, occasionally, persist after the cycle passes. It's rare, but happens frequently enough to ensure that most large landmasses have critters wandering about (wandering monsters!). Additionally, it's possible to "Claim" a creature captured during a cycle by immobilizing it and performing the proper ritual. This incurs all the obvious attendant dangers, of course.))
Itzen happens to have this in her back pocket for such things
Itzen:
  True Tongue of Calamity
The weight of her words on those from Elsewhere is heavy
Trigger: She makes an intimidate or diplomancy check against a target that isn't natural origin
Effect: She uses arcana instead with a +2 bonus to the check
Eileen: "Great..."
Deket: (That ability still functions as normal. This stuff is just for anything that is relevant to manifested critters. Once claimed or left behind, they essentially become permanent.)
Itzen totally could bully Ra and Vul with that
Deket: (Lol)
Deket: (Ok, folk. I'm really sorry, but I actually have to go! There's another thing that I have to do today, but I'm super happy we were able to conclude that fight and also talk a bit about the next step.)
Deket: (I really appreciate you all showing up, and hope you come next time as well. I don't know if the 29th works for people, so if not please say so!)
Deket: (...hello? Are we good?)
Eileen: yep
=^v^=: (( sorry was gettng drink, ya that's fine ))
Riot: (( Sorry, I was in the other room for a sec ))
=^v^=: (( lol ))
Deket: (No worries!)
Riot: (( Thanks for the game! And 29th should be fine ))
Deket: (I'm just glad people keep showing up. See you all... well, whenever, since I'm online.)
Deket: (Bye!)
Lucky: lol okay, gnight!
