Ganaroth has connected.
Ganaroth: Heyo! I'll be right back, sorry! XD
vonel has connected.
Riot: no worries
Riot: hi hi y'all
vonel: hey
Ganaroth: Oh, shoot. As I just said, brb! Hi Von!
vonel: guys could have said something
Ra'ven: ?
vonel: still not used to being up this late
Ra'ven: it's raining really hard
vonel: must have missed me, just some wet roads but no rain
Ganaroth: Back. Hiya there. How are y'all?
vonel: Some how more tired on the day when I wasn't awake for around 20 hours.
Riot: Damn
vonel: Not sure how that worked
Riot: Switching schedules like that always sucks, but especially if you've been doing one shift for years
Ganaroth: RIGHT?!? I'm in less pain, and probably a bit less depressed, but I'm so fucking tired, despite all the coffee...
Ganaroth: You have a much better excuse, though!
Ra'ven: I stayed up super late finishing veilguard
vonel: It feels like my body wants to switch, I feel asleep with out any problems yesterday and had a good nights sleep
Ganaroth: Sympathy.
Eileen: Just really tired right now, so yeah
Ganaroth: Are you going to be ok?
Eileen: Yeah
Eileen: I'll do my best
Ganaroth: Ok, if you're sure. If it's an issue, say something, kay?
Eileen: Need to do something to ground my head a bit more after last weekend, been pulling myself back together all week but doing something like this with friends will help.
Ganaroth: Mm. Ok. Well, I'll do my best. Please show patience while I try to get back in some kind of swing of things!
Dnd: The Return: Part II: Redux. Yer outside a prison. If anyone can't remember something, please ask!
=^v^=: (( weren't we inside a prison in the middle and trying to sneak/scout the spot that has a telporter block? ))
Riot: (( ah yeah the teleporter thingy ))
Ganaroth: ((That sounds like a thing I forgot!))
Ganaroth: (I'm super unsurprised that I forgot something. My head wasn't.... yeah. :s)
Riot: (( valid ))
=^v^=: (( I think Ra was upset they even had a teleporter blocker and Kay was pointing out how of course they'd have one what if someone can just telport, but I think maybe Ra nd someone else sneaky were going to check if they could spot any of the people they were looking for but the rest of the party should get a little close incase alarms blare etc ))
=^v^=: (( but I coudl be wrong ))
Riot: (( it was Lucky who was gonna go with, iirc ))
Riot: (( since she's sneaky ))
Regardless, the Teleport ward seems as though it's to the SW (unless I said something else, lol.) Up above the lip of the pit, you can see the pool of light from a lantern flame swinging about, and the sound of heavy, shuffling footsteps as a big SOMETHING passes on its way north. Escrish mentioned something about modified prisoners that he called "Big Rats." You might want to take care.
Ganaroth: (Sounds good to me. Make whichever rolls you think would be appropriate.)
Ra'ven:
  : Rolled 34. Stealth
Ganaroth: "FUCK NOISE."
Lucky:
  : Rolled 18. Stealth
Ra'ven: (screams silently)
Riot: (( Godamnit. Rolled a fuckin 4 ))
Riot: (( GIrl you jinxed yourself with your damn name ))
=^v^=: (( the problem with stealth checks, bad guys only have to get lucky once ))
=^v^=: (( specificly this lucky ))
Ganaroth: (I'm trying to compensate for that issue whenever I can.)
=^v^=: (( chuckling at a steath mission where it goes off fine except we escape and Lucky is behind stuck in a large bird cage, "Oh no they got Lucky once!" ))
Riot: (( lol ))
In any case, if anything sees or hears you, you can't immediately tell. As you climb over the top, you catch a glimpse of the figure on its way from you. It's probably about nine or ten feet tall, and a strange combination of broadly built and gangly, its form outline by the flame it carries. A low rolling chuckle coughs from the figure, which doesn't seem to have noticed you at all.
Riot: (( That doesn't intimidate me at all. Nope. Not a single bit. ))
Ganaroth: (Lol. Ok, so I'm not sure whether you're waiting for me, but I can move on if you would like.)
Ra'ven hopefully can find a way to continue to check out pirionsers after the big scary thinggy shambles by
Riot: (( Lucky is following Ra'ven's lead ))
Ganaroth: (Lol, if you want to press the "next" button, you can just say so.)
Riot: (( also that Big Rat ugly as hell ))
Ganaroth: ((Prison Rats are just the worst, amirite?))
=^v^=: (( Vul is the rat connisur but would probably not try a prison one ))
As the thing recedes further away from you, and you find yourself more firmly enveloped by the dark, a calm, half bored/half amused voice whispers to the two of you. "So... classically speaking, people don't break into places like this. Though really, common wisdom really has missed its mark on this issue." The deep voice sounds like a like whetstone oil, feels like an edge, and you can see two glittering eyes peering out at you from behind prison bars, casually honed in on your position. "So, what are you smuggling into this place, fellow ne'er do-wells?"
Ra'ven: "Trouble, likely, maybe freedom..." Ra whispers back
Lucky stands next to Ra and says nothing, keeping her eyes out for more soldiers or big rat things
Chrysoberyl: "An answer that earns you points from me. Tell me, what are the prices of those things you've brought?" A tall, thin man sits against the far wall, Garmera's silver orb illuminating him just enough for you to see his toothy smile. His sparkling mica eyes shift over to Lucky. "The next one won't be around for a minute or two. There are supposed to be more... but for some reason, the ones that are let go, or die, just haven't been replaced recently. Now, I don't want to claim that Nosnra is pocketing the budget meant to go towards additional treatments, but..." He chuckles.
Ra'ven: "The first has already been paid by others, the latter.." she sighs, "The plan isn't exactly super solid... Would you happen to know where their little rune that stops blink... err. teleporting is?"
Chrysoberyl: "Indeed, I know exactly where it is." He looks at you, weighing something in his gaze. "And if I tell you, what are you going to do?"
Ra'ven: "Stop it from working, for one." she nods in the blackness
Ra'ven: "Break out the Wolfs, hopefully, plus probably other people, you know how that goes."
Chrysoberyl: "Miss, aren't you going to say something? I'm starting to think I've offended you." His voice somehow hits Lucky as though aimed. There is no doubt which of the two he directed the statement towards. "You're with him on this?"
Lucky: "I'm not offended. I'm just part of the muscle on this one."
Chrysoberyl: "Ah. Don't worry. Muscle is fairly important, in the end. All the clever plans in the world, and you're still nowhere without that necessary shove." One of those sparkling eyes winks. "Well. You keep feeding me answers that I like, so how about we help each other, hmm? The rune of anchoring is inside a flat stone box on the roof of this building. There's a laminated steel lock, and then the lid will have to be lifted directly off." He smiles. "Entirely simple, as long as you aren't seen."
Ra'ven nods, "Makes sense, what's looking there though?"
Chrysoberyl: "Aside from the cannons along the perimeter? Just the rats. Or any guards who might be around. Or the warden, may providence forfend. But none of them are especially likely." He leans forward, shiting position until his elbows rest on his knees. "I'm just looking out for both of us, you understand. I don't want your little venture to end prematurely, after all!"
Chrysoberyl: "So, why break out the wolf pack? Not that they're terrible company, but most people either don't care, or are perfectly happy to let them rot."
Ra'ven hmms, "Need their help to stop something terrible from happening."
Chrysoberyl: "Uh oh. Sounds serious. Anything I should be concerned about? And if not, can I at least be curious?"
Ra'ven: "Oh you should be concerned, might cause the whole city or larger to become a horrible endlessly burningn pile of ashes and fire, but can't really explain now."
Chrysoberyl: "That does in fact sound like a problem." Lucky, for whatever reason, his voice does NOT sound as though he thinks it's a problem. You're not sure if he is intending to conceal that disparity or not, or whether he's right to not be concerned, but his words don't completely match his tone. "Well, I suppose you don't have to tell me about it if you don't want to. It is, after all, your own business." He sighs, and closes his eyes, shaking his head. "Honestly, I feel bad at this point. You're helping me far more than I've helped you. Is there anything else that I can do to balance things between us? People like me do hate to leave debts unpaid, after all."
Ra'ven: "Not so much information-wise, unless you know precisely where the wolfs are being held, but likely there will be a more motivated desire for assistance in the event anything goes too off-kilter."
Lucky cocks an eyebrow at his words, an uncertain, and somewhat critical, look coming over her face.
Chrysoberyl: "Oh, well if things become a real problem, I'll obviously help. I wouldn't want this little investment to vanish. Now, PRECISELY might be a little too much to say, but there are two of them in this little collection of cells. Asleep right now, the poor things. There are another six in the middle block on the opposite side of the yard, and four more in the mines." He pauses, his voice growing heavy and sad. "One of those isn't doing well, I'm afraid. I can taste the poison in his wounds from here."
Chrysoberyl: "My two neighbors are Eladrin. They more or less had to keep them next to me."
Lucky: "Out of curiosity, what excuse did they use to lock you up? Seems like anything goes with the Gardai these days."
Chrysoberyl: "Hmm. They claimed that I'd engaged in conspiracy to commit murder of a political official." He rolls his eyes.
Lucky: "Which one?"
Chrysoberyl: "Sekvet Tenning, if I recall. He was... Minister of Navigation, I believe."
Lucky: "Ah. Never had the pleasure. As it were."
Ra'ven: "Did he end up dead?"
Chrysoberyl: "Neither me. After all, according to the charges, I only engaged in conspiracy, rather than murdering him myself." He nods solemnly. "As it happens, yes. It seems so."
Ra'ven: "Okay, good. Wanting some politician dead here seems to be a fairly commmon pastime. It'd be wierd if you were here for that."
=^v^=: (( anyone remember if we were either suppose to kill or spare the jailer person who has that key? ))
=^v^=: (( the weapons lab key? ))
Riot: (( I do not remember ))
Chrysoberyl: "Well, I agree. That kind of the thing really can't be called a crime in this city." He grins. "You're not from here, are you? Do you know WHY political upheaval is tolerated here? The philosophy, I mean. For the locals, that part is usually so obvious that they never even have to think about it."
Chrysoberyl: ((Supposed to? I mean, that's up to you. You need to grab three keys out of the identified five targets, but any five will do.))
=^v^=: (( I thought like, we were requested to take specific things by ... uuuug... McA's characters? ))
Chrysoberyl: ((Can you explain what you mean? I might have forgotten something too.))
Chrysoberyl: ((Sorry, brb again...)
=^v^=: (( there was some intrigue on which people they wanted us to take out with some "oh weren't they on your side" "Ya, but they are also fuckers who need to die" ))
Chrysoberyl: ((I honestly don't know that I recall that, I'm sorry! Kinda embarassing for me...))
Chrysoberyl: (Might as well admit it. Better than trying to pretend, and tripping over myself later.)
vonel: (( All I remember was there was a "Yeah fuck that one guy, he can for sure die if it comes up" but now I can't find it in the logs or even recall his name. ))
Riot: (( I wanna say the stuff about the actual jailer was told to us by Escrish ))
Chrysoberyl: (I do remember that. But I'm pretty sure that neither Samir nor Dinesh would mind terribly if any of the targets die.)
Chrysoberyl: (I'm not sure if they said which ones they particularly hate, but I don't think they'd lose sleep over any of them.)
Chrysoberyl: (I remember them describing the various targets. I can't say for certain that I didn't off-the-cuff something that complicated it, but I don't recall intending there to be ambiguity of that particular type.)
Riot: (( We'll see how the jailer acts when we get to that point I guess? ))
=^v^=: (( that's fine if there isn't cause like half remembered... just don't wanna do stuff directly opposed to existing things I might have half remembered right? ))
vonel: (( general murder is a go, got it. ))
Chrysoberyl: ( Murder ahoy.)
=^v^=: (( guiz we need to blend in with the population... better kill some politicians! *party in this town ))
Ra'ven: "Well, we likely should get going with the plan before someone comes back..."
Riot: (( tbf that's the town's favorite pastime so ))
=^v^=: (( it's funny cause Lucky is from here but the player is named "Riot" which is approprate ))
Chrysoberyl: "Tch. Nobody ever wants to talk about political philosophy." Despite the words, both voice and expression remain essentially friendly. "Well, I wish you the best then, and hope that you don't run into the business end of a Hill Giant ballista. Oh, speaking of Nosnra, she's down in the central mine area. Most of the place isn't big enough for her, but there's plenty of room in the area they process the ore. She tends to stick to there, to better keep an eye on things."
Ra'ven: "Ya, those automated ballistas hurt... maybe later on that philosophy... "
Ra'ven: "Oh.. also, do you want a lockpick, sort of?"
Chrysoberyl: "No need to worry. If you just go and break that rune, the way you wanted, I shouldn't need one."
Chrysoberyl: "Though I think I'll stick around for at least a few minutes. Just in case you need help."
Ra'ven tugs at Lucky's hand to make to sneak away
Lucky follows
Chrysoberyl: Fuck. I don't know if there's a possibility of doing another session another time this week or not, but, I even if there isn't, I just can't keep going. Remember how I said I was super tired? Yeah. Holy fuuuuuck. I'm actively nodding off here. I felt pretty good emotionally, though. I'm excited to get back to this for the first time in a while now, and if anyone is available, I'd be super happy to give it at a couple more hours. I can't make excuses otherwise, other than to say that if we keep playing, I just lose what's left of my coherence.
Chrysoberyl: Fuck, almost posted a whole row of w's.
Riot: (( Understandable and I currently only have "find job" as a responsibility so ))
vonel: (( I now work days, so my evenings are free ))
Riot: Sweet
Chrysoberyl: Pleasepleaseplease! If we can do that, I'd love to. Literally any day.
Chrysoberyl: Any. Day.
Riot: Whatever works for everyone else should be fine for me
Ra'ven: lol
vonel: pick a day, I'll be there
Chrysoberyl: Thank god.
Ra'ven: Gan almost posting their w's
Chrysoberyl: Whew.
Chrysoberyl: So many w's.
Chrysoberyl: The only place I get w's.
Ra'ven: remind me to have Ra ask the party if their helper is a fey or a devil
Chrysoberyl:
Ra'ven: she thinks they are a devil, but might be a fey, but also is 100% aware that she'd guess biased
Chrysoberyl: Tell me when you want to play again this week, k? I just... need to go die. But only for one night, hopefully.
Ra'ven: X MEN WELCOME TO DIE
Riot: We can figure it out in the discord lol
Riot: Sleepy people go sleepp
Chrysoberyl: Lol.
Chrysoberyl: Zeleepnight
Riot: I'm gonna go make dinner
Riot: Gnight y'all!
vonel: z.z
