Riot: hi hi
Vul: hi
Riot: It just dawned on me I don't think the new powers ever got decided on for one of my characters
Vul: what up
Riot: Not sure which one right now
Vul: p sure nobody has a level 10 extra power
Vul: wait, one person does
Riot: Oh okay I assumed everyone else already added theirs lol
Ra'ven: nah, none were final approved except for like, one for Kris
Ra'ven: on the 2do docket or the like
Riot: Ah okay
Ra'ven: more specifically the planing of them lined up with a not great time for ganna and never was revisited
Riot: Yeah valid
Riot: Just wasn't sure if combat was imminent lol
Ra'ven: I don't think it is?
Ra'ven: and even so I assme we could go a fight or two without it
Riot: YOU NEVER KNOW
Riot: lol
Ra'ven: or, you know, assming a fight goes over a session break
Ra'ven: just make them up in the middle with the 'actually there is a fight going on" impedus
vonel has connected.
Ra'ven: o also slight tidbit
Ra'ven: ra'ven normally speaks common with a fair accent
Ra'ven: when she was up on stage she did not
Ra'ven: taking to the wolf guy
Riot: huh
Riot: interesting
Ra'ven: be me
Riot: Hi Von
Ra'ven: remember that such a thing actually DOES require others to be told
vonel: hey
Ra'ven: instead of just think it loudly
Riot: So you're talking way back when the original incident happened with Okorion and Wolfo?
Ra'ven: ya
Riot: Gotcha
Ra'ven: also you see the big red nudge gm button now?
Riot: Yup
Ra'ven: also also you saw the condition button info I pinged you cause I forgot that was ez buttons?
Riot: Yeah but that doesn't help me recognize the icons for effects on other people/enemies lol
Riot: But it is helpful for my chars
Ganaroth has connected.
Ganaroth: Sorry for the late arrival. I was putting the last touches on a monster token, and didn't realize the time.
Riot: No worries!
vonel: indeed
Ra'ven: you should be able to use that on any player token as well
Ra'ven: so basically not enemies
Ganaroth: And when I say last touches, I mean "last before abandonement," not "last before perfect," lol.
Riot: lol
Ra'ven: ya'd have to right click impersonate them before the button would work tho
Ganaroth: The impersonate button... my old nemesis.
Riot: Also Akaiku: Yeah, I get that. But most of the time I'm confused as to the conditions affecting enemies because I miss what people hammer them with and then they have 9 little icons and I recognize like 2
Ra'ven: ya doing somethign bout that would require a bit of tweaking and some gm discussion
Ganaroth: Kay, tag me in. What's going on?
Ra'ven: showing all effects on a foe would require you buying off on it being "all" effects or, failing that, me coming up with some arbetrary marking that seperates effects the players can know or not
Riot: I mean just a legend would do it lol
Ganaroth: Is there a reason that the purple "Show Effects" button on all the tokens doesn't work for this purpose? I assume so, otherwise my input sure wouldn't be needed.
Ra'ven: ya players can't run macros on monster tokens
Ra'ven: I could make it so they can run THAT one
Ra'ven: but like, I'd have to do it also i'd have to ask you (like this)
Riot: Like I said
Riot: Just a legend of what the icons mean would be helpful
Riot: And that may already exist somewhere
Ra'ven: they are only sorta-legendy
Ra'ven: but sure let me ping you one or post it in server
Ra'ven: anyways
Ganaroth: Oh. Well, that's very easy to understand. Yeah, sure, I don't see the harm. Even if you folks have the ability to delete effects on a monster, I trust you not to.
Ganaroth: If the macro ownership deal works and is easy, go for that. Otherwise, the legend isn't hard.
Perra: Looks like the My States and Target's States buttons in the Combat Status area might be what your looking for?
Riot: I just tried and it says only the owner can run macros on it
Riot: Good idea though
Riot: I hadn't seen that
An Assassin!:
  Shortsword Slash
  (0) An Assassin!    Rolled 31 vs. AC    —    11 damage .
Hit: and the target takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls (save ends).
Apply The target takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls (save ends).
Kris: Huh... odd those don't work for you.
Ra'ven: I'd have to make a macro that runs that macro on a given target not the current token
Ra'ven: aka I'd just make an inspect or somethng button
An Assassin!: It's not nearly as good as the Show Effects button, though.
An Assassin!: (The target states button, I mean.)
Ra'ven: it'd be a show effects except on selected not the whatever
Ganaroth: That would be better. Target etc doesn't tell you anything about custom states, or the removal conditions.
hackerfox has connected.
Ganaroth: Someone get this hacker out of here. He's going to steal my bitcoins!
Ganaroth: Hey though, what else is going on?
Riot: Existence pretty much
Ganaroth: (sighs) Yeah, here too.
Perra: same
Ganaroth: Hmm. So in other words, by playing this game, we'll be destroying existence?
Riot: lol
Ra'ven: k I made a button
Ganaroth: Those moms in the 80s were right!
hackerfox away~
hackerfox is disconnected.
Ganaroth: Thanks Akaiku. You are helpful, as always.
Riot: Okay so that
Ra'ven: there is now campaing macro show target effectfs that does it on the first target selected
Riot: Says what the target has caused
Riot: Not what's applied to the target
Ra'ven: nah it's everything on the target
Riot: Not on my screen
Ra'ven: try on dead beast overseer?
Riot: I tried it on Samm and Hector
Ra'ven: heck only has self buff currently tho
Ra'ven: prone/bloodied/etc won't show
Ra'ven: only stuff that actually has a condition line
Lucky: Check the discord
Ra'ven: k
Ra'ven: so game?
Lucky: Yee
Perra: sure
Ganaroth: Probably, yeah.
Last Time on D&D, there was a bunch of character chat, but so little else that Akaiku created a button to make it not happen again. Also, Ra'ven asked Hector about her odd feelings toward Jydith/Anand, and got answers that weren't exactly bad, but not skip-in-the-garden joyful either.
Ra'ven also causes Hector to run off to find his friend
Ra'ven also got into a traditional, 'what stories have you been' reuniting food thing that they hadn't gotten to before
Ra'ven: with vul
vonel: (( were is said button? As I don't see it on any of my tokens. ))
=^v^=: (( campaign macros ))
=^v^=: (( putting it on every token would be manual process and time consuming so I put it in the every macro thin ))
vonel: (( ah found it. ))
=^v^=: (( side not just now I learned you can drag and drop that to a different token if you want it there as well ))
The conversation eventually winds down, and only trivial topics remain. Abner's food is long gone by now, and several bottles of decent wine as well. Most everyone in the building has come by to join the conversation and give their two cents at some point, and to get the story of what has happened. Whomever is still in the room as the meeting ends are able to see the various dirty dishes begin to neatly stack themselves, just before the door closes. ++If you wish to have another conversation before people go off to sleep, and we begin the next day, this is your chance. Otherwise, we're gonna go forward to the visit to the palace.
Riot: (( I'm good ))
vonel: (( good to go as well ))
Ra'ven is fine with further conversations being the domain of future flashbacks or discord chats
Ganaroth: Also fine.
By the time you wake, you can feel the crisp edge in the air. The taste of silver, and the faintest smell of wet earth heralding the beginning of the Argent Cycle. Looking out the window, you can see the lambent glow of the city in the silver light of Garmera's eyes. It's dim, of course; the light of her silver gaze is much gentler than her golden one, but brighter than a mere Silver cycle, and much brighter than a Patina. Outside, at the edge of the manor's own property, you can see the wrought-iron warding symbols glowing with a faint bluish light. In poorer parts of the city, or places less affluent, people might resort to wooden or woven wards; not nearly as effective as using permanent ones made from materials that seem to be anathema to the cycle being warded against. But this is the Goldfire district, powerful, permanent wards are simply expected. It would take a very powerful Fey to enter the manor tonight... though you'll have less protection during your walk to the palace. Still, the fact that the invitation was even issued during an Argent cycle means that the Emir, or one of his people at least, think highly of your ability to handle yourselves if you happen upon any fey strong enough to break your traveling wards.
Vul is at least fairly chipper
Vul: "Say... am I going to get zapped walking around now?"
vonel: (( assume long rest? ))
Rai Patience Cantor is ensconced at the head of the dining already, and this time not in one of her dresses. Instead, she's wearing one of your new uniforms, perfectly fitted. The combination looks... oddly appropriate on her, despite you never having seen her wearing something like this before.

vonel: (( With her mighty 9 Con ))
Rai Patience Cantor: ((Sorry, I really should learn to tell you that before anything else. In any case though, this one is more of a formality. I will be level with you: I am not immediately prepared for any interesting combat encounters, so even if tokens aren't made and updated, you'd have to wait until at least next week to use them. One of the ones I had planned fell apart when I realized the rules didn't work that way, so I have to design another one. -.- ))
vonel: (( Not a problem ))
Rai Patience Cantor: ((Ammendment: You can start combat if you want, but it won't be interesting. Sorry.))
Riot: (( No worries on my end either ))
Rai Patience Cantor flashes a slightly predatory smile as you, and the others, begin to enter. "I win. You're all late."
Ra'ven yawns, "To what?"
Ra'ven has a habbit of teleporting slightly whilst walking when she seems sleepy
Rai Patience Cantor: "Late to the final strategy meeting, of course. We need to all be on the same page before we walk into what is more probably than possibly a trap."
Eileen: "Didn't relize it was a compatation or I'd have just powered down here."
Vul: "It's a trap?"
Rai Patience Cantor: "Unless, you think that Emir Ibrahil Kelarus is actually planning to just give us rewards for our efforts, now that we have evidence of his collusion. And even if he is being framed, it simply means that someone else is pulling our strings."
Lucky: "Seems like it's always a trap, in this city."
Eileen: "Sadly true."
Vul: "Well, we did... err you all did save all those rich people, you'd think he'd be obligated. Also it's an Argent, so obligations are a bit stronger."
Sera: "Hopefully he's not obligated to kill us, but I think you know my expectation on that."
Kris: "Easier to assume everyone is out to kill you, let's you be pleasantly surprised more offten."
Rai Patience Cantor looks impatient. "Of course it's always a trap here. Wealth fosters paranoia, which fosters a culture built around it." She sighs at Vul. "That's true enough, but the promise was made before the cycle began, and even were it not, the Emir would not have called us to him if he did not believe that he could somehow get clear of that promise. Besides... no formal oath was sworn, no contracts signed. The binding is stronger right now, but hardly invincible in this case."
Sera: "So what's our page?"
Rai Patience Cantor: "Well, all of you have equal voices here. I've said it before, and I am reiterating it now; I view you as partners, not as employees. You have equal shares, and equal power. But I, as I have been occasionally reminded, am a "bossy bitch." Her mouth twitches in amusement, though it's unclear what part amuses her. "So I probably will try to issue orders to you. Don't let me." Her face gains a mildly angry expression. "Something about giving orders... if feels familiar to me, and not in a completely good way. I wish I could remember..." She shakes her head. "Nevermind. Not important. I suggest that we prepare for a number of scenarios. Obviously, the best thing of all would be if this really weren't a trap. If that happens, we should give no indication we thought it might be, then leave. We should also be prepared to be attacked, either in the streets on the way, or in the palace courtyard, or in the reception court itself. We should also discuss our responses based on who is attacking us. The Palace Guard? Soldier and beast of the Iron? Something I haven't though of? And above all, we need to prepare different responses for if the Emir is a foolish puppet, a hostage, or a true co-conspirator."
Lucky: "If it's the Guard, we're probably fucked, unless we can manage to teleport out of the city."
Ra'ven: "Lots of places to hide, it's not like all of the guard can or will be mobilzed to find just us."
Vul look sad suddenly, "Think I should stay here? I don't fancy getting zapped by every passing doorway and I assume the palace is even stronger..."
Lucky: "If the Emir wants us, then I'd think yes all of the Guard could be mobilized to find us."
Sera: "What do you mean, zapped?"
Vul waves upward, "Wards and the like."
Sera: "Why would they zap you?"
Perra: "Cause there tuned to keep the Fey out."
Vul: .. "Cause I'm a fey fox?"
Sera: "Ah."
Vul: "or.. a kitsu-e or how Io says it..."
Rai Patience Cantor: "II think Lucky has the right of it. In fact, I worry about that in all scenarios. The weight of authority he could bring to bear against us in any given scenario is enormous, and if he is allied or controlled by the Iron in some way, they may simply order him to do so." Patience is silent for a few moments after Vul speaks. "...Vul, unfortunately, you were not invited. This invitation was issued strictly to those of us that fought at the docks. But... I have a notion. If there is nothing going on, it might get us into a lot of trouble. If things go badly, it might save us." She closes her eyes. "Two teams. The invitees, and everyone else on our roster. The first team will respond according to the situation in the palace. The second team takes up stealth positions as close to the palace itself as possible. Actually on the grounds, if you can manage it. Their job would be to intercept any outside interference, and, if necessary, cover our escape."
Vul hmms
Io: "The word is Kis'Tane, Vul. Don't worry, you'll get used to it."
Vul: "Maybe Io can go with the rest of you inside?"
Perra looks a bit down as she hears about how is invited.
vonel: (( *who ))
Sera: "If nothing else, if the second team is found out, they could be explained away as insurance against yet another Silverfang attack."
Vul looks to Perra, "Oh, isn't that sorta good for you? What if your father is there?"
Vul: "He was really mad and probably important, rewarding people for saving all the rich people might have him in attendance."
Perra: "Yeah... but still doesn't mean I didn't want to go to."
Rai Patience Cantor: "I'm not certain Io would be allowed in. They are obviously a dragon, even if unusual. I doubt they'd let us bring a cat in, much less a dragon. Not that you are a pet of any kind."
=^v^=: (( did Hector make it back? ))
Lucky: "Sorry, Perra. For what it's worth, I wish we'd had you with us at the docks. Vul, too."
Vul: "Ya, but having a dragon along is fancy and impresive. Plus if it's not a trap I'm sure Io wouldn't mind an opulent reward ceremony..."
Sera: "Different kind of fancy, I think."
Hector Achilon walks into the room, uniform slightly disheveled, as though he hasn't slept well. "Sorry, sorry. Too many damn things to..." He pauses, his eyes darting back and forth, though it's not totally obvious what exactly he's looking at. Then he coughs, a formal "ahem," and says "Right. Meeting started. I'll shut up."
Ra'ven: "Ha, not latest..." she mumbles
Perra tugs on Vul's sleeve, "I think having Io with us would be better, right now it's more or less just you and me on the second team..."
Io: "I would enjoy going. Do you not think they might see me as a threat?" says the dragon about the size of a large dog, sprawled out on across three chairs.
Vul: "Well, Alsyne and Tyellthia too, also we could get Abner..."
=^v^=: (( I will spell her name correctly one of these days that isn't today ))
=^v^=: (( obviously we should put up the orc signal for that one guy ))
Ra'ven: "Well, I mean we are all threats right?"
Rai Patience Cantor: "Perhaps I wasn't clear. Specific invitations have been issued. None for Alsyne, or Tyellenthi, or Abner, or even you, Io. You might get past by pretending to be a drake... companion, or something of that nature, but unless someone intends to disguise themselves as another of this group, they won't be getting in the front door."
Vul humphs, "Oh well, probably should have brought you for our sneaking in then." to Io
Eileen: "Less then a day with that level of specificity... yeah trap seems more likely now."
Io: "I wish you had. But I might have attracted attention."
Kris: "Wait so I got an ivite to, even though I was prtending to be on the wolf guys said?"
Vul sighs, "Ya, and we coudln't have known beforehand."
Rai Patience Cantor points at Eileen. "Exactly. This was prepared. For us. And I don't yet know why." She turns to Kris and nods. "It arrived six hours ago, with the others."
Ra'ven: >.>
Ra'ven: "Okay it's a trap, ya."
Ra'ven sighs, "Uuug, she's probably going to be there then."
Sera: "I hope not, but you're probably right. Especially if it's a trap. Even if it's not, I'm sure she'd be there for the intimidation factor alone."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Probably. Divination could have been used to identify our names, using witness memories of our appearances, and Emir Ibrahil certainly has the means to do so. So there are technically still ways that this could be legitimate. But I don't bet on it."
Kris: "I'm sure that old man probably filled in the Emir as well."
Ra'ven: "Oh, the Professor."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Mm. Good point, Kris."
Ra'ven: "I do suppose he'd be obligated to report whats going on."
Ra'ven: "Maybe we will get lucky. I do not want to want to meet her again."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Still, the speed at which it's all moving is unusual." She sighs. "And if it's unusual for the reasons we think, they will certainly know that we would recognize the oddity. So why announce your trap in advance? It doesn't make sense to me."
Vul points upwards, "Suspicious accident?"
Vul: "Oh no the public unrest has caused fey to invade the ceremony there must be dissents and sabotaurs in the palice we should have these new totally not devil soldiers crack down on that?"
Sera: "Unless it's not a trap, and it's all an intimidation tactic. To show that they know that we know, and are choosing to let us live."
Eileen: "Maybe it's a trap for the Iron and the Emir is going to flip the script on them..."
Ra'ven: "I mean can we even enter armed?"
Rai Patience Cantor: "Ugh, I could do without seeing that woman again either. Easy enough on the eyes, but a genuine nightmare for the soul. Just looking at her makes me feel ill. Frankly, it's a kind of disgust that I normally reserve for people who have personally wronged me. But I've read her books without feeling that way before, seen her art. I knew what she was; she's never hidden that in her works, but knowing that the artist was a monster always used to be irrelevant. And now that I've seen her, it's not. It's startling how much more real things can seem when you're in front of them for the first time." She nods, at Vul and Sera both. "Both sound possible." She raises her eyebrows and considers Eileen's words. "It sounds far fetched... but by all accounts, Emir Ibrahil Kelarus is known as both shrewd and bold in his actions. I find it hard to believe that he would simply buckle under their authority. If the hostage scenario turns out to be true, your explanation might be too." She blinks. "That's...a good question, Ra'ven. And the answer is that I do not know. The invitations omit THAT information. So we'll find out when we get there, I suppose. Or we could leave our gear with the second team, to avoid it being confiscated. Then if something happens, they can hand them off to us."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Of course, his reputation is why I include "Hostage" in the first place. It's the easiest explanation for the insanity of his orders at the summit."
Ra'ven frowns, "Guess I should leave my bow at least... Its somewhat incredibly obvious and easy to see as a threat to anyone around."
Ra'ven: "Also it suits me and I'd hate to have to go find another one to buy."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Yes. I actually have a hidden compartment for a dagger in my right hand." She waves her prosthetic. "But since this is an argent cycle, I won't really need weapons. Things get somewhat more mystical during these events."
Lucky: "Not a huge fan of giving up the swords."
Ra'ven hmms, "I mean some of the kings in tales even expected warriors to remain armed, as an assassin being invited would show a failure of spys AND guards."
Ra'ven: "But you all said that not everything is like tales, right?"
Vul pats Perra, "At least you get to keep your cool magic wand either way."
Eileen: "I'll bring mine just in case, and we'll see if they make us give them up before going in."
Perra nods, "Yeah."
Kris: "I can still fight pretty well with out a weapon if it comes down to it."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Not everything in faery tales, but sometimes there is a grain of truth. In full honesty, I don't know what he will demand or allow. I've never been summoned by him before, and while there may be traditions governing this sort of thing, Ibrahil has always been anything but a traditionalist.
Ra'ven hmms, "Well, how about we try... Worst they can do it insist?"
Ra'ven: "I mean we are mighty warriors being rewarded."
Rai Patience Cantor: "They might allow it. And if they do, apologies, they'd be more likely to allow Io's entrance as well."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Still, if we arrive, and our weapons are forbidden, that means that to enter, the guards would have ahold of our weaponry. We might have to abandon them in a quick escape."
Vul: "Oh I got an idea?"
Kris: "Might be best to just stick to one thing to test them on, try and throw to much and they'll just as likely demand we only enter in our under clothes."
Vul: "I can go."
Vul: "And take your weapons if they make you get rid of them."
Vul: "Not like, enter, but escort to the entrance."
Vul: "I mean, it's not like I'm not Io's attendant, in a mannor of speaking."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Will you be able to get past the wards, do you think?"
Vul: "So if no weapons or no dragon, I can leave with them. No way they can argue against that."
Io: "Indeed."
Vul hmms
Vul: "Maybe?"
Vul: "Depends. I mean all the wards I ran across during this, albet in smaller less grand places, were based on hostile intent."
Vul: "You woudln't wanna disregard any fey that happened to like you from helping against the ones that didn't right?"
Eileen: "If you can't then I would sugest Abner to go with us to hold our weapons, bring them back to the other team."
Vul: "That might work, though I feel I should try the ward anyways, better before a problem, right?"
Eileen: "Indeed."
Vul: "Plus if worse comes to worse, I do still have the pen, and it is an Argent."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Hmm." She blinks. "Of course. There won't be cycle wards in the gardens themselves, most likely. They're normally placed at perimeters and thresholds. The guards will almost certainly let you pass, since you are invited." She pauses. "Actually, given that you HAVE an explicit invitation... I'm not certain their wards will affect you at all anymore. Knowingly inviting a Fey into your household? Difficult to revoke. And yes... anything that deals with stories should work somewhat better now. But we don't know its limits,.not really. Neither you, Io. This wasn't your work. Don't rely on it as your only solution to a problem. Always have a backup."
Sera: "...What pen? Why does a pen matter?"
Vul: "It can rewrite stories."
Sera stares blankly at Vul
Rai Patience Cantor: "Oh. Right, when you first arrived I was irked enough to omit the fine details of our misadventure."
Vul: "You know, in a general sense."
Sera: "That sounds like a regular pen."
Vul: "Stories like, fate?"
Vul hmms, "That's the word everyone uses right?"
Io: "They are obtuse. The stories it writes are told in lives."
Vul: "Also historry, somewhat."
Eileen: "That sounds exceedingly dangerous."
Vul nods, "Hense all else fails."
Vul: "It will likely work but probably in interesting ways."
Io: "Without being confusing, the Pen capable of writing reality as though it WERE a story. But there are limits. I know that much. Those that captured me chattered on about "the principle of coherence."
Vul nods, "Really seems like it has standards."
Sera: "Okaaaay... So using it can rewrite reality? Shouldn't something like that be kept somewhere significantly more secure than a fox's pocket?"
Vul: "No?"
Io: "Perhaps, yes. Wouldn't that be appropriate? An artifact pen that dislikes bad stories. Heh."
Vul poits at Io, "See, it was fine releasing you and Tyellenthi because it's a better story."
Eileen: "Were straying a bit here."
Vul: "Oh, ya, sorry."
Rai Patience Cantor: "About safety, I'm of two minds. The first is that yes, of course we should, Sera. It's absurd for Vul to carry it about. But then I ask myself... where do we put it? Someone needs to hold it, unless we want to leave the dangerous artifact UNATTENDED. All the traps and wards in the world aren't as good as a single dedicated guardian, after all, and part of me trusts Vul more than any other security measure available to us."
Vul: "Also a pen that writes stories doesn't sound that impressive."
Vul pulls out pen, "It looks pretty ordenary too"
Sera: "Fine, but I don't like that we're just wandering around with a reality altering pen. He gets knocked out and the bad guy just writes us out of the picture." She sighs. "Okay. If you trust him, then I'll drop it."
Vul puts it back, "Plus I can turn into a bird or something."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Allowing Vul to carry it comes with two prominent virtues. First, he is an experienced storyteller, and can probably use the pen better than any of us. And second, when he changes shape, all he is carrying melds into his animal form. That would make it impossible to drop or be lost in an extremely rapid retreat."
Vul nods, "Also if they wanted to write us out, they'd have to have a compelling story about it, and that seems... Unlikely?"
Vul nods, "Unless they knew beforehand... Still. We should get going right?"
Io: "Sera, I think you may overestimate the danger. As Vul says, I doubt that they could simply erase you with it, any more than we can erase them. But certain events could be altered, in order to help bring our story to a compelling conclusion, good or bad."
Eileen turns to Io, "Let me ask you directly, do you want to go with Perra's team or try and see if you can come in the front with us. Not like you can't just meet up with Perra and the others if they say no the the dragon at the gate." She then turns to look at Vul, "...and are you willing to go as far as the gate with us on the off chance they tell us no weapons?"
Io: "It is a weapon of incredible power. But it is not one that, I think, can simply be wielded like a sword. It was oft said that the pen was the mightier of the two, but the sword has always been more direct."
Io: "Ahem. I would very much enjoy coming with your team, Eileen. I haven't seen the inside of this so-called "Ruby Palace" yet."
Vul nods, "Ya, unless I catch fire or something."
Eileen: "I really don't think that'll happen, but fair enough."
Vul: "But the wards in the palice were disarmed before, so the gate one might be broken too."
Vul: "Well, put to sleep."
Eileen: "I have a feeling they'll be working again... awake... whatever when we get there."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Very well. Those of us from the docks, plus Io. And if there are issues with eitther Io or Vul, they can join the other team in securing the area. We won't know about the conditions of the wards until we try. Sleep is not a stable condition."
Rai Patience Cantor: "As Eileen says, things tend to eventually wake up."
Rai Patience Cantor: "So. Let's say that Ibrahil, or whomever is in charge right now, decides to confront us violently. Run or fight, and under what circumstances? I'm open to all suggestions, as well as to what we should do if he merely threatens us, or even tries to recruit us."
vonel: (( Riots internet seems to have given up the ghost at the moment. ))
Rai Patience Cantor: Ohshit.
Ra'ven: nooo
Ra'ven: wasn't me

Riot: (( okay back ))
vonel: (( yay ))
Riot: (( first time I've had to manually reboot the router in months ))
Rai Patience Cantor: Oh, hey
Rai Patience Cantor: I think I almost missed you showing back up. Whoops.
Rai Patience Cantor: ((Ok, so what was the last line you saw?))
Riot: (( I looked at Logfox and the last I see is "Rai Patience Cantor: "As Eileen says, things tend to eventually wake up." " which is only one line past what I saw ))
Rai Patience Cantor: Ok. The only part you missed was this then: Rai Patience Cantor: "So. Let's say that Ibrahil, or whomever is in charge right now, decides to confront us violently. Run or fight, and under what circumstances? I'm open to all suggestions, as well as to what we should do if he merely threatens us, or even tries to recruit us."
=^v^=: (( force updated logfox ))
=^v^=: (( it saves realtime but only updates every like 5 or 15 mins or when i tell it to ))
Sera: "I think it depends on who or what he tries to attack us with. I've said my piece about Anand before, and the warning stands."
Ra'ven: "I mean if it does come to a fight that isn't rescuing someone we should run, since it's the palice..."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Understood. Well, I don't think I'd be able to get in your way in any case, so I'll keep it in mind."
Ra'ven: "Or at least withdraw to a slightly more neutral field."
Ra'ven: "You don't go into a bear's den, tweak it's nose, then stand there."
Rai Patience Cantor: "....I provisionally agree. We should avoid fighting inside the palace except in the service of retreating."
Eileen: "Fleeing from a fight there would be for the best, potenally fighting every guard, with or without a weapon, doesn't strike me as a good option."
Sera: "Agreed."
Hector Achilon: "Yeah. There's no way all of them could be in on a conspiracy like this, and it would be pretty cruel to TRY to cut them down, when they're just doing their jobs."
Hector Achilon: "Uh, to say nothing of how long it would take..." He actually seems a little embarrassed that he didn't say this part first.
Ra'ven looks to Sera, "Hey, if she IS there, would you mind limiting it to one shot?"
Io: "I dislike retreating, but I know how to be practical when I have to. Fight to run. Do we escape the walls before making our stand?"
Ra'ven nods, "I mean if there are guards on the walls, being surrounded sounds like a bad time."
Io: "True. Just remember that we may have to force our way through them. And when we return..." He pauses.
Sera: "Maybe I wasn't clear. Fighting Anand is tantamount to suicide. Whatever Resena did to end that battle... I don't think it's possible again. And I don't know what it was that she did, anyway."
Kris: "Depends on if they take our weapons and if they do if the second team is waiting inside the walls or outside."
Lucky: "If she bleeds, she can die. But yeah, I'd rather not take on a fight we don't need. As much as I enjoy a good brawl."
Ra'ven: "Ah, I though you wanted to shoot her. I sorta want to..."
Sera: "I would love to shoot her. Repeatedly. Until she is nothing but arrows and meat. But I'm not stupid and I'm not going to risk anyone in this room for it."
Kris: "Regardless they'll throw something at us that we'll have to fight eventually. My guess would be... a killing field of sorts."
Kris: "Well on a killing field..."
Vul: "I mean, if you wanted to fight inside the walls, we could ambush the forces that came behind..?"
Kris: "I wouldn't be worried about the forces chasing us, odds are they'll just be there to drive us forward. To a spot they want a fight to happen."
Lucky: "So it seems like the concensus is run for it?"
Ra'ven nods
Kris: "Yep."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Hm. Yes, Legends tend to grow themselves. I wouldn't mind making an attempt on her... but not now. Not in this situation. On an open field, I feel as though I might take the chance." She nods. "Reluctantly, I must agree with Sera's evaluation." She tilts her head to one side at Kris, then nods. "The gardens. The courtyard. We'd be natural targets there. But Vul's suggestion... an assault on the walls to clear the way. I like that. A fighting retreat. And then, after all is said and done, we deal with the fallout. We assess whether or not it's possible to stay. We assess whether we are safe. But I think we've agreed on the basic form of the plan for now. We can and should improvise the rest, with the situation so uncertain."
Eileen nods
Rai Patience Cantor: "Now, those of you who did not come to work in your uniforms, please go and retrieve them. Even you from team two. We don't know how the situation might change, and they might turn out to be useful. Just put them in your packs if you don't want to stand out. But honestly, with all of the political insanity, there are hundreds of different uniformed factions roaming the streets. You'll probably blend right in. After all, soldiers and mercenaries are more likely to be tough enough to deal with being exposed during an Argent. Then... we go. There's no use in delaying, I think."
Kris: "We have uniforms?"
Ra'ven: "Well, the rest of us do."
Rai Patience Cantor: "...do you want one? You're not an official member, but you are relevant to this case. If we can, we should present a united front, even if it's a white lie."
Rai Patience Cantor: "We have spares...Hmm. You should fit into one of Hector's."
Kris: "Guess it wouldn't hurt."
Rai Patience Cantor: "Excellent. Hector, make that happen. The rest... we can leave together, and split up once we get there. Safety in numbers, after all."
Ra'ven dashes off to change into her uniform
Hector retrieves a uniform for Kris. It's a little big for him, since Hector is himself somewhat bigger, but a couple of strategic folds makes it look alright. Tyellenthi is wearing a uniform, finally changed out of the tatters she'd been wearing for thousands of years. Yltheria picks at hers, unused to wearing trousers. And even Io has had three stripes painted under each eye; red, charcoal gray, and gold.
Alsyne: "....I actually look pretty neat right now. Um... It makes me a little embarrassed of the stuff I brought from the village."
Ra'ven: "You would look out of place in many other places in this compaired. Your village clothes have their own charm."
Rai Patience Cantor: "You're fine. If you've suddenly developed style, I'll take you shopping later. "
Raven and Patience approach the issue from exact opposite angles.
Perra streaches her wings a bit seeming to try and get them comfortable, "Feels a little werid."
Vul futzes about with his pink bow as well, that and wearing his scale armor.
Rai Patience Cantor: "Well then." A pause, which seems to stretch on a little too long. "...Who would like to say something portentious before we walk into this trap to see what happens? I'm certain the occasion calls for it, and somebody must have something dramatic they've been waiting to use."
As the silence stretches on, Abner suddenly breaks into laughter. "Seems kent force drama any more'n humor, hey? More fools us, standing here in pretty clothes, looking for something pretty to say. Go on an kick someone who deserves it in a sens'tive spot. We'll take care of the rest."
Ra'ven: "Garmera's glare of Tales is upon us, let the story we write be of glory and not tragety!" she says looking skyward in a sort of prayer/mantra.
Rai Patience Cantor: "Ok, that was more along the lines of what I was thinking. Well shall the tale be spun." She smiles. "Now lets off."
Rai Patience Cantor: ((And next time we should be picking up closer to the palace, unless you decide to do something else. Combat MAY exist. You'll want to have your tokens updated, just to be sure.))
=^v^=: (( prob should work out level 10 attune powers at some point during week then ))

Ra'ven: nah
Ra'ven: you can just put a +2 on the target
Lucky: It automatically does it?
Lucky: Yeah but you don't know if it hits until after, right?
Ra'ven: you don't get to make the second attack if it misses

Lucky: Ah yeah true
Ra'ven: basically it's there if for some reason you didn't wanna prone them
Ra'ven: or they were somehow immune to it
Lucky: Makes sense
Ra'ven: we don't really have many characters that actually provoke attacks of oppertunity right?
Ra'ven: from ranged combat in melee
Ra'ven: like, Sera and mabye yith?
Lucky: Uhhh
Lucky: Not sure
Sera: How does Sera do that?
Ra'ven: hm
