Vul: hi
Clarity: hi, just wanted to get a screenshot of a couple of things for a friend
Clarity:
  Gunner
Effect: The next attack Clarity uses on her turn costs a free action instead of its normal action. Only one free action attack may be used on her turn.
Clarity:
  Military Discipline
Trigger: You start your turn subjected to an effect that a save can end.
Effect: The triggering effect ends.
Vul:
  Hammer of Dreams
Do hammers dream of metalic sheep?
Effect: All damage done by this hammer can be psychic, another free action returns them to normal.
Clarity: Fancy
Clarity: I still have no clue about items
Clarity: No idea where to even look
Clarity: except maybe iws.mx
Vul: I have no idea where your interaction with build mechanics lies
Clarity: I cannot parse that statement
Vul: I don't know how much you know
Clarity: With 4e just assume I don't know shit
Vul: or how much of the process you were involved with beforehand
Vul: assuming you have 0 prefrences and no particular build planned, you want lucky to take a earth fortune stone
Vul: as one of those level 12s
Vul: the once a day just reroll a melee attack is pretty good, especally since it's with a bonus and since it's a daily item, you get thp from clarity, etc
Vul: uses no slots, gets better with more people taking it, etc
Clarity: I am not the best at builds. The best build I've done on my own was my Sun Soul Monk in 5e, or my 5e variant human fighter (though my absolute best build I did with no guidance is my Lancer mech build). Beyond that I am not great at it. Dual classing has been an exercise in frustration and having to follow build guides.
Vul: ya, I mean in 4th basically everyone follows build guides with the caevit that since it's a real game ran by a permissive gm there are things that don't follow guide exactly
Clarity: Right
Clarity: G has been incredibly helpful in that regard
Vul: like itzen's build flat doesn't work for example
Vul: itzen is getting a floating sheild instead of a +2 or 3 ac that'd be basically required of melee
Vul: ra'ven has a specific level 5 weapon passive without having to have that weapon
Vul: stuff like that
Clarity: Gotcha
Vul: heck vull has an invalid weapon enchantemnt more or less
Vul: alas I'd sorta with gan was around instead of busy with thanksgiving stuff so I can ask wtf he was doin in your builds
Vul: the rock for lucky is solid advise but I don't know what clarity was going for
Clarity: Ah is that what they're up to?
Vul: ya family stuff
Clarity: Clarity is basically long range fire support / long range damage and healing
Clarity: I think I already have her powers picked, but I have no clue about feats for either. And I am very indecisive about Lucky's powers
Vul: is lucky trained in endurance?
Clarity: I'll have to open her up in a sec, I have Clarity pulled up right now
Clarity: Lightning Motes and Recuperative Enchantment are what I was thinking for Clarity
Clarity: Maybe
Clarity: But the Recuperative Enchantment is kinda confusing
Clarity: It sounds like you have to specifically enchant someone's armor BEFORE battle, which isn't as useful
Vul: lucky should get attack on the run for level 9
Clarity: DM'd you
Vul: ah looks like a no
Clarity: I was thinking of Dire Bear Maul or Swirling Leaves of Steel for the level 9
Clarity: Most likely Swirling Leaves
Vul: but that power's pretty bad
Clarity: In what way
Vul: it's just damage in a small area and not a good amount of it
Clarity: it's 2W+5
Clarity: And a miss is half
Vul: like, that attack on the run thing is 3w twice plus movement
Vul: so if you wanted to attack 2 people it'd be better, you'd have to want to attack 3 people at the same time which would be the same amount of w's in total, but spread out as opposed to focused
Clarity: True
Vul: also it could be used on the SAME guy for like 6w
Vul: incase you wanted to kill that guy
Vul: bear grab sounds okay except I sorta don't think the "also I just sorta don't do something for my action and continue my damage" sounds fun in play
Clarity: Yeah that's my only gripe with it
Vul: also it requires both hits to do it's thing
Vul: hmm
Clarity: You're definitely making a convincing argument for Attacks on the Run
Clarity: I wonder how it would play with Expeditious Stride as the level 10 util
Vul: question
Vul: do you happen to have a prefrence for your level 10 fluff feat?
Clarity: Like I said, I have barely looked at them and the little I did was confusing so not yet lol
Vul: I mean fluf is basically non-combatty
Clarity: I'm still not even sure wtf a fluff feat is
Vul: so skills and the like
Clarity: Ah
Clarity: I guess I could've looked at the two I already had and figured that out lol
Vul: if you didn't have a prefrence and you weren't really feeling any lv 10 utilities, you could pick up endurance traning
Vul: and get enter the cruicible
Vul: which is awesome
Ra'ven:
  Unstoppable
An omnious aura surrounds her, minor hurts dissapear instantly, greater ones are blunted, nothing seems to slow her attacks...
Effect: Ra'ven loses a healing surge and until end of encounter gains resist 10 all and can't be weakned.
Apply Resist 10 all and can't be weakened
Ra'ven: ^
Clarity: It's not listed as an available power for me. I assume if she had endurance training it would show up?
Ra'ven: ya
Clarity: Gotcha
Ra'ven: it's a skill power, requires traning in the relevent skill
Ra'ven: also like, lucky uses 2 rapiers right?
Clarity: Also action surge is weird in this edition, which I guess makes sense, since everyone basically has the 5e version of Action Surge via using AP
Clarity: Yes two +1 rapiers
Clarity: Harmony and Rhythm, though Harmony is houseruled and I'm not sure what that means anymore since it's been a while since we built her
Ra'ven: harmony is normally heavy blade only
Clarity: Ah no wonder I can't see its effects in the cbloader
Clarity: Since it's houseruled it doesn't show anything
Ra'ven: ya best cheat is to add a harmony longsword
Ra'ven: and just look at it
Ra'ven: cause probably you should mc either fighter or rogue with your level 10 feat on lucky
Clarity: lol you remember I said I am bad at multiclassing?
Ra'ven: ya plus there is that one thing where gan was letting a bit of a thing with mc feats
Clarity: Also I have no idea how to do that in cbloader
Ra'ven: feat
Ra'ven: 4th ed mc is feats
Clarity: I'm looking at them but don't see where multiclass comes in
Ra'ven: you have an 'entry' feat that you can only pick one of that gives you some stuff
Ra'ven: after that point you 'count' as that class for future prerequs
Ra'ven: so like normal big thing it kicks in is at 11 when it lets you pick some OTHER classes paragon path
Ra'ven: which both Itzen and ra'ven are doing
Ra'ven: in lucky's situation, mc rogue would let you sneak attack once per encounter which is a pretty big addon of damage
Clarity: Gotcha
Ra'ven: fighter would give you battle awareness for another basic attack once per encounter almost certainly
Ra'ven: also there are some good power swaps in both
Ra'ven: the freebee thing is that gan lets you do a power swap with the mc feat isntead of having to spend ANOTHER feat, assuming it's not too nutso (per gm fiat)
Clarity: Not quite sure what you mean
Ra'ven: normally after you pick a mc feat
Ra'ven: you can then pick up another feat that lets you swap either a daily, encounter or utility power that you have with one from that other class
Clarity: Ah okay
Itzen: so for like lucky you might be able to pick up fighter's 'rain of steel' instead of your current lv 5 daily
Itzen: slow and daze is sorta good
Itzen: but you seem to be concerned about aoe, where rain of steel is "auto hit guys for 1w for standing next to you for the encounter"
Itzen: rogue also has the upside of qualifying for slaying action which is sorta a mean thing to do for making action points nuttier
Itzen: since it's overrides the once per encounter of your sneak attack and lets you use it again in an action point
Itzen: but ya it's low slash and sneak attack as upside for rogue, the extra basic a fight plus possibly picking up some cool fighter power for fighter
Itzen: also I have no idea what paragon path gan thought of for you
Clarity: Not a clue
Clarity: I know nothing of paragon paths
Clarity: looking at them now in the PHB
Clarity: lol none of the Rogue paragon paths work for her build
Clarity: They're all dex mod
Clarity: Oh wait
Clarity: I'm wrong, I was thinking her Dex was bad but her dex mod is +4
Itzen: your build has +1 less for dex then str
Itzen: was what I was typin
Itzen: so, you know, it's close enough
Itzen: if you changed to short swords instead of rapiers or something fighter has a mean as crap paragon path
Itzen: oh wait nah they nerfed it too much
Clarity: Which one are you talking about
Itzen: probably stormwarden or blade dancer is what was expected
Itzen: shock trooper
Clarity: Oh I was just looking in the PHB
Clarity: That must be from a supp
Clarity: Found it
Clarity: What did they nerf about it?
Itzen: the added dex
Itzen: used to be when you hit, not once per round
Itzen: I mean I don't know what lucky's 'thing' is but if you want something funny as heck you could multiclass barbarian and go winter fury
Clarity: I don't see what you're referring to with shock trooper
Itzen: it's level 16 feature
Clarity: ohh I haven't even been looking at those
Itzen: some of them are flat nutty
Clarity: I like Knight Protector
Clarity: An interrupt that slides an ally away, spending an AP gives a nearby ally +4 to AC, and a 3W+Str encounter attack
Itzen: heh
Clarity: What
Itzen: sometimes I wonder why gan made you a ranger instead of a fighter
Itzen: you seem to gravitate towards stuff that does "also something that isn't damage"
Clarity: Oh wait that doesn't really work because I have Quarry, not Mark
Clarity: I looked back at our DM history and it was because I like her to be high DPS
Clarity: Swinging swords and doing lots of damage is her thing
Itzen: thing is you prefer things that are not merely high dps
Itzen: so like, dual blade fighter for instance is moderate dps but tons of 'also save allies' or 'do mean things if foe attacks someone else'
Itzen: aka the difference between 'high' and 'highest'
Itzen: hmm
Itzen: you might check out the paragon path 'son of mercy'
Clarity: I mean my original goal was for her to be high DPS but I think there have been backstory things I've been thinking of that play into the protective role (also knowing she literally has nothing to help allies at all currently)
Clarity: What class is that
Itzen: it's not
Itzen: it's any defender role
Clarity: ohh okay
Itzen: you'd need to come up with some way around the mark thing at level 11 till 12 hit, but that's not super hard plus you can just whine to gan
Clarity: I already whine enough about my idiots' stories, I don't wanna bother them more than I already feel like I do
Itzen: why not?
Itzen: I mean like
Itzen: a thing you might be able to swing, me just spitballing
Clarity: It's just a source of personal anxiety, worrying that I make things all about me at the expense of others or the DM
Itzen: have lucky have like a feature that's "you can use palidin mark but it canceles your ranger mark'
Clarity: Especially with a DM as nice as G
Itzen: and take some paragon path like hospilitor or son of mercy or the like
Itzen: basically go back and forth from pull agro to dps
Itzen: I don't know if it'll be problematic cause of how taky lucky may or may not be
Itzen: or just be all 'whatever' and have your attunement change to something that buffs allies somehow
Itzen: it's currently 'hit hard or something' right?
Clarity: It's funny that my close range melee char is lower HP than my long range char, but that's a result of Con
Clarity: What do you mean
Vul: your 'attunement' is strength
Vul: it's giving you some hit hard push people around stuff
Lucky: That is a very big difference to what attunement means in 5e so I was confused lol
Vul: if you'd prefer to like have 'help allies etc' that's something you can tell gan and they prob will be cool with just chaningig it due to that 'whatever respec as often as you'd like' ruling
Vul: since the cavet on that is don't copy other player's characters without clearing it with them first
Lucky: I mean I think Knight Protector would work if I could make Quarry count as Mark or something
Vul: the thing about the whole 'attunement' in this game is it's wibbly wobbly somthing or other that lets you do someting cool
Vul: vul gets his flying and blowing people around for instance
Vul: if you want lucky to help out other character, like, try to think of 'how' you wanna help? Wanna buff them? Heal them? Make attacks miss? Make them hit? Make them target you? etc
Lucky: Like I said. Knight Protector fits, because it's a function of a melee based character

Ra'ven: beguiling strands is rather useful
Ra'ven: since you only get it once per enconter I'd lean on the 'utility' side
Ra'ven: beguil is wizard, otherwise, sword burst is a burst 1 incase you get swarmed by minions
Ra'ven: but strands works better on minions plus biiig aoe ally friendly and push 3
Ra'ven: eldrich blast's upside would be it's a basic attack so it could be used if someone granted one
