Ganaroth: Heyo.
Ganaroth: Sup?
Riot: We were just getting to the area to kill Orin lol
Riot: We hit level 11 on the way
Riot: Tomorrow we're gonna kill her and do the Minsc stuff
Ganaroth: Orin becomes gore pile. 10/10 transformation. Gratz on the progress.
Riot: We used Lae'zel to deceive Voss and get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane for my Gith EK and it is so damn good
Riot: And she just got her second Extra Attack so she now gets to attack 3 times, 6 with action surge
Riot: So much fun
Ganaroth: That sword is hax, lol. But they are supposed to be in lore, so is all good.
Riot: Yeah Lae'zel was like "I don't like what you did to get it but the sword is too cool for me to be mad about it" lol
Ganaroth: And she is correct.
Ganaroth: Ugh, sorry, brb.
Riot: It's still so funny because that sword is even bigger than the Soulbreaker and my noodle arm looking Gith is dwarfed by it
=^v^=: (( silver swords are even okay-ish in 4th ed ))
Ganaroth: Gith proportions compared to their weapons are always pretty funny. They're pretty good in 4e, but they are also affected by the pc/npc barrier, so a githyanki knight npc's Silver Sword might be way nastier than the version you can actually get, lol.
Riot: Yeah that makes sense and I could see it happening in 5e too
vonel: (( morning ))
Riot: Good morning!
Ganaroth: Heyo, good morning to you too.
Ra'ven: tbf silver swords are psychic energy type replacers so are still 'correct for a build'
Ra'ven: it's just not a damage build
Ra'ven: it's cheasy +accuracy plus -accuracy on foe on hit
Riot: Yeah my Gith EK does a lot of psychic damage (although I just swapped out the tiara she had that added 1d4 psychic damage with Sarevok's helm so it's a bit less now)
Ganaroth: Psy lock builds can get really funny/hax though. It's a thing worth building towards, if the style is at all appealing, so silver swords aren't a forgotten item. Yeah, they way they work in BG3 at least is pretty funny. The items and the way the magic items work are hilarious compared to the 5e base, and it creates some very lol combos.
Riot: I posted my Gith EK build in #off-topic
Riot: I am very happy the Silver Sword still has the Soulbreaker attack
Riot: It's , especially when used with Luck of the Far Realms (guaranteed crit)
Ganaroth: Cool. ...Honestly, I'm still super annoyed that Githzerai got a full official 4e race write-up, but Githyanki did not. Very salty.
Riot: Understandable to be annoyed by that
=^v^=: (( yankigith were alwas chaotic evil badguy races back throughout cannon, bg3 is just making le'zera the anna of githyenki ))
Ganaroth: It's not a huge problem. It's easy enough to take Githzerai as a base, and switch a couple of things around, borrowing a little from the existing version (there is a quasi-official version, but it has no rules support), but as someone who's been a fan of that branch of the gith family for a while, the favoriteism just irked me.
Riot: Also a lot of that is because of Vlaakith CLVII turning them into a literal cult
Ganaroth: As you say, Akaiku. And yet we've had heroic drow and orcs coming out of our various orifices for decades now. The idea that wizards doesn't know that players like playing Angel from Buffy is laughable.
Ganaroth: The good-guy outcast of an evil people is an attractive narrative, and it's odd not to support that while doing a fully supported version of their bespoke counterparts.
Ra'ven: gaem
Riot: It's also very interesting once you meet a certain prince, based on the choices you make. Has ramifications for the entire Githyanki society
Ra'ven is readdy to FUUUMBLE!
Ganaroth: And yeah, Gith ain't inherently evil. But the meta reasons for why they weren't included are more mysterious to me.
Ganaroth: (Right, right. I know. We shall resume shooting each other with beanbags and shouting "lightning bolt! lightning bolt!")
Riot: lmfao
Ganaroth: (Very quick, lemme get a soda, then we can begin.)
Ganaroth: (Fark, my leg is twisted somehow. Ugh. Super annoying. Not relevant to the game, just annoying.)
Okay... I think you can all remember what happened last time. You attacked the cultists from several sides, but were surprised by the intensity of their counterattack; either the cultists are more skilled than they appeared, or they are very enthusiastic about this ruse. In the middle of the melee, however, a warrior previously unknown to you unmasked himself from amidst the cultist's ranks, and began attacking them. Vayak responded with genuine anger, and seems to be focusing his attention on the newcomer with genuine murderous intent, so it seems unlikely that this was planned.
With your permission, I will simply begin with Patience's turn.
Riot: Sounds good to me
vonel: (( yep yep ))
Rai Patience Cantor:
  Assassin's Shroud
Effect: Target on enemy you can see in the burst. You subject the target to your shroud. If any of your shrouds are already on the target, you subject it to an additional shroud, up to a maximum of four. The shrouds last until you use this power against a different enemy or until the end of the encounter. Before you make an attack roll against the target, you choose to invoke either all your shrouds on it or none of them. If you invoke your shrouds, the attack deals 1d6 damage per shroud, minus one shroud if the attack misses, and all your shrouds then vanish from the target. This damage roll never benefits from bonuses to damage rolls, and is in addition to the attack's damage, if any. Level 11: 1d6 + 3 damage per shroud. Level 21: 1d6 + 6 damage per shroud.
Special: You can only use this power on you turn, and only once per turn.
